What you'll do as a Senior Trading Application Support Engineer at Akuna:

We are seeking a Senior Trading Application Support Engineer to join our dynamic team at Akuna Capital. The Trade Support team is responsible for installing and managing production trading applications at both the desktop and server level. This is a role that will focus on supporting, managing, optimizing and troubleshooting the production trading environment. As a Senior Trade Support Engineer, you will own and maintain our proprietary distributed trading systems. You will work closely with Trading, Development, and Infrastructure management on a daily basis, bridging the gap between our cross-functional teams and influencing the direction of our trading system development. In this role, you will:

* Work closely with Development, Trading and Infrastructure teams to troubleshoot issues, make continuous improvements, and configure the trading system
* Work on automating daily and repetitive tasks
* Create, update and improve continuous monitoring processes of the production trading environment
* Learn and adjust to ongoing changes within our proprietary trading system
* Support the release process to ensure that Akuna and its systems are upgraded properly
* Learn and support in-house and third-party software applications
* Provide in-office technical support to traders using our proprietary trading system
* Bring new products and strategies to the firm
* Foresee scalability problems and address or escalate them as necessary
* Work with exchanges and third-party vendors to coordinate testing and ensure our trading system is compliant

Qualities that make great candidates:

* 3-5 years of trading application support experience at a proprietary trading firm
* Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Information Systems, Systems, Computer Science, or similar field preferred, but not required
* Experience working with Linux in large distributed systems
* Familiarity with automation and configuration tools along with an Infrastructure as Code mindset
* Experience with Python, Bash, Databases structures and scripting techniques
* A demonstrated interest in the newest technologies and automation tools
* Solid understanding of a primary U.S. exchange, preferably CME or CBOE
* Ability to learn and apply new concepts quickly
* Understanding of the importance of risk & compliance procedures and controls
* Team player with the ability to build relationships with cross-functional and global teams
* Ability to grow into a leadership role with Akuna, Team Lead experience a plus
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
* Available to join an on-call rotation and work outside of core business hours or on weekends
