Position Overview:

Are you interested in solving complex operational challenges that companies face when they transition to Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architectures If so, then Tools Team at Climate is the place for you to express your ideas and work on what you are passionate about.

We need an automation engineer to work on crafting tools and automation that bring a smile to engineer's day. You will develop new features in an iterative way that collectively form a larger application, modify and enhance existing software to add or change features, while constantly improving the codebase.

What You'll Be Doing:

* Develop and maintain automated processes, tools, and documentation in support of Docker and Kubernetes
* Lead the container best practices in design, development & implementation.
* Work with engineering leadership to drive system requirements and delivering the maximum value to Climate.
* Identify, document, automate an engineer processes for repeated tasks.

Basic Qualifications:

* 4+ years of experience in building automation tools in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, GoLang, Clojure, Ruby).
* Ability to analyze varying stakeholder concerns, proactively working with diverse groups to address concerns and build consensus.
* Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and fundamentals
* Must be well versed in generic administration tasks of managing Docker images, container networking and standard infrastructure maintenance tasks on Docker and Kubernetes platform
* Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, application security, and multi-tier cloud application architectures.
* Working knowledge of at least one of AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Built and managed a container orchestration platform from the ground up.
* In-depth experience with GitLab's CICD offering.
* Contributor to open-source projects.
* Experience speaking at conferences or meet-ups presenting on topics related to software build & release automation.
