Job Description:

BlackBerry Cylance is looking for a Senior Threat Researcher to join our team! This position can be worked remotely!

WHAT YOU WILL DO

* Perform deep-level and trend analysis on malware of various file types
* Perform attack chain reconstruction and recommended various methods of remediation/mitigation
* Design, build, support, maintain and optimize automation to support the building of machine learning models and other internal workflows
* Design, build, support, maintain, and optimize internal security tools and programs using Python
* Be a strong team player and work well within a diverse, cross-functional team

Preferred Skillset

* 3-5 years of security experience, with a heavy emphasis in malware analysis
* Experience with threat hunting concepts, static/dynamic analysis and identifications of IOCs
* Experience with obfuscation and bypass techniques common in today's threat landscape
* 2-3+ years programming experience
* 1+ year of Python-specific programming experience
* Experience with new API integration
* Experience working in a Linux command line environment
* Experience with PyTest or other Python testing frameworks
* A working knowledge on prioritizing clean code first and foremost, and sacrificing that priority for performance only when necessary
* Working knowledge of good software design and best practices
* Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with minimal supervision
* Intellectual curiosity; an ability to learn new concepts autonomously
* Humility, accountability, and team-oriented approach

BONUS POINTS

* 3-5+ years Python programming experience
* Natural adherence to general python standards such as PEP8
* Database experience, postgreSQL preferred
* Experience in Front end development including /javascript/HTML/CSS, etc
* Linux development experience and familiarity with bash and GNUtils
* Experience working with various REST APIs
* Experience with code implementations of machine learning and general machine learning concepts
* Experience working with AWS services such as S3 and AWS
