At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Senior Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

* The Senior Test Engineer will work as a Test Lead on a Scrum team working daily with developers, business analysts, end users and partner organizations as part of a fast-paced, high exposure project with the Client.
* The Senior Test Engineer will work as a member of the project's QA/Testing software development QA team scaled across several Scrum teams operating in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) environment.
* Daily tasks include understanding of user story acceptance criteria and client requirements which can be translated into the creation of test plans, test scripts, execution of tests, defect identification, reproduction and management.
* Defects are identified and tracked through to resolution.
* All work time-boxed, performed and completed within the designated time requirements of Builds (i.e., Releases) and Sprints (3-week sprints).
* Data intensive testing skills required (strong SQL experience and relational database experience): ETL, file transfer, file submission, understanding of intensive data sets, validations and business rules logic.
* Strong presentation skills required as the QA team presents their team-specific test plans to the client on a weekly basis for feedback and acceptance. QA staff is also asked to present occasionally during Sprint Demos.
* Ideal candidate would have experience working with customers and end users in User Acceptance Testing phases of a software development project; to include understanding, identification and creation of high-level testing scenarios while being able to communicate these with the external client at the business user level and also with internal technical personnel at a functional/technical level.
* Healthcare experience ideal but not necessary as long as the candidate has worked with data-intensive projects in a similar industry.
* Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
* Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
* Test Planning, design, scripting, documentation and execution
* Defect management
* Scrum methodology
* Understanding of user story acceptance criteria
* Presentation skills
* Experience with UAT process, deliverables, planning
* Bachelor's Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
* Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
* U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
* Travel may be required.
* Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
* Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
* Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
* Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
* Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
