Senior Test Engineer

Perspecta has an immediate need for a Senior Test Engineer in Herndon, VA.

Under general direction, carries out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements.

* Serve as Senior Tester reporting to the Test Manager.
* Perform and lead tests of COTS tools and software related to Cybersecurity solutions to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
* Work with Federal Gov't Civilian Agencies to support Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V) activities, including support to determine if the system is compatible with the Agency's existing hw/sw environment.
* Create test artifacts including test plans, test cases and test reports.
* Conduct external, Level 3 testing of the solution in the Agency environment.
* Coordinate and lead IV&V test demonstrations with the CDM Test Team.
* Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of the solution in the Agency environment
* Facilitate Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) of the solution in the Agency environment
* Provide regular demonstrations to each Agency on new functionality being deployed
* Provide feedback to the requirements team, IV&V Test Lead, Internal Test Team and CDM Test Team regarding updates to solution requirements based upon the regular demonstrations.

Qualifications

Required:

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.

* 5 years of Testing experience.
* Carry out procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet minimum organization standards and end-user requirements.
* Thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects. Document and work to resolve all problems.
* Report progress on problem resolution to management. Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
* Acts as information resource about assigned areas to technical writers and other Quality Assurance Analysts.
* Provide dashboard testing support.
* Conduct testing, support independent verification and validation (IV&V) and system authorization. Able to justify decisions about relevancy of requirements to external customer IV&V/test team, as well as make recommendations for modifications/updates to requirements and/or mitigation plans to resolve issues.
* Produce test plans, conduct the testing and generate reports. Test plans provided to customer for review and approval prior to performing the formal testing.
* Perform end-to-end testing, including testing in a Perspecta test facility and customer designated environments. Testing could include development and testing, staging, pre-production and production and will need to be repeatable.
* Support UAT and OT&E Testing in Agency environment.
* Assist with additional operational and security related assessments conducted by the government.
* Work on problems of diverse complexity and scope.
* Exercise independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.
* Ability to handle most unique situations.
* May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.
* Design solution testing to evaluate systems, equipment and devices based on established testing principles and in accordance with provided specifications and requirements.
* Develop and implement test plans, schedules and requirements for all portions of new and existing designs; design and provide leadership for outsourced and in-house testing resources, build and operate test tooling, fixtures, scripts, automation and apparatuses.
* Collaborate and communicate with management, internal and outsourced testing and development partners regarding testing status, project progress, test results and issue resolution.

Desired:

* Experience testing Cybersecurity related COTS tools and software such as: Splunk, RSA Archer, Tenable, CyberArk, Sailpoint, Vormetric
* Any security certification like Security+ or CISSP
* Experience working with Federal Civilian Agencies
* Experience working with DHS Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation Program (CD
