Overview

Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP) is seeking a Network Architect to join a high performing team in the acquisition of a new logistics automation capability for the US Army. This is a senior position delivering enterprise information management solutions for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) programs at AESIP. This position will work with data center teams in ALTESS/Redstone/DISA/Commercial Cloud Service Provider as well as Operations support team. The Network Architect will report directly to the Senior ERP Project Lead leading these efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting efforts that will support the delivery of enterprise solutions. The candidate will also be assisting a program management office that will oversee and coordinate multiple concurrent software projects within a complex landscape of cost, schedule and performance drivers that collectively constitute a major Army Automated Information System.

The Network Architect shall provide expert technical assistance and expertise for supporting activities that include network analysis and design, evaluation of emerging infrastructure technologies, supporting data center operations, data center storage fiber interconnectivity, virtualization, enclave security practices, ERP architectures and supporting third party providers with operations security analysis and deployment of security hardware and software.

AESIP is looking for an experienced, high-performing individual who is ready and willing to take on the program management challenges of a high profile, multi-year software development effort within a complex and demanding environment.

As the network architect and lead engineer, you bring to the table a high level of theoretical and functional knowledge of big data migration, storage, back-up and recovery. The network architect lead has experience with designing, provisioning, configuring and administering successful network solutions that must connect to the Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN). Proven network implementations with high availability, low network latency, data integrity and security are key performance measures for this position.

Work location is Fort Belvoir, VA. Preference will be given to local candidates.

Responsibilities

* Network liaison for ERP Enclave sustainment efforts ensuring all ERPs' requirements and technical support requests are addressed through the Government Lead.
* Serve as lead engineer for the consolidated ERP Network Enclave and related network issues.
* Supports the Government Lead in providing technical oversight and support to systems integrators (SI) on implementing Army-wide SAP enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
* Works with the Government Lead to provide technical project management and implementation of technical components and systems.
* Serve as the lead engineer for multiple common ERP initiatives to include but not limited to the following: Enterprise Citrix; Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC); NetBackup; Storage Area Networks (SANs); Remote Access; Security Information and Event Management tools (e.g., ArcSight, Splunk).
* Provide network engineering support for cloud migration activities for AESIP
* Apply DoD standards to the development of current automation technologies.
* Works with the Government Lead to ensure the ERP Enclave complies with all Cybersecurity initiatives, task orders, operations orders, and requirements.
* Develop and review network diagrams and documentation, system architecture document (SAD), memoranda of agreements, procedures and policies, and other documentation to support Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Audit requirements.
* Assists in writing technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks).
* Develop overall AESIP network and infrastructure strategy through collaboration and requirements from ERP Enclave partners.
* Responsible for benchmarking and tuning ERP Enclave network hardware and software for optimal network performance
* Collaborates with support teams in the Systems Management, Applications Development, Storage Operations, Telecommunications and PC/LAN areas to optimize network use
* Support ERP Production, Staging, External User Acceptance Test, Quality Assurance, Development, and Sandbox environments.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent years of experience.
* 10 to 15 years' experience in leading and architecting Infrastructure projects at US Army or DoD agencies.
* Lead technological feasibility studies related to IT infrastructure related activities.
* 5 to 10 years of experience in building dedicated circuit between data centers
* Architecture and implementation expertise in virtual storage, data replication
* Architecture and implementation expertise in fiber infrastructure, VMware virtual environment, and network architectures
* Experience in performing infrastructure enhancement planning and execution.
* Experience in Army's acquisition process.
* Current DoD Secret security clearance is required to qualify.
* Obtain and maintain the agency's Annual Security Certification
