Leidos is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer (SSE) to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across mission critical exploitation capabilities as we continue to push the technology forward. As an SSE in the National Solutions Intelligence Group, you will join a functional team of accomplished staff that deliver quality solutions to address the toughest national security challenges. The candidate should be able to demonstrate advance experience administering Microsoft Windows and Linux based operating systems and other IT services, such as storage appliance, file servers, webservers, and virtualization platforms. The position requires excellent communication skills to facilitate end users' needs with management decisions, and be able to identify technology issues and shortfalls to management and demonstrate strong customer service skills

Additionally, this candidate will serve part time as a Program Manager not to exceed 25% as the Contractor's Program Manager. In this capacity, the SSE shall manage and administer all efforts undertaken in this Task Order to include, but not limited to: ensuring all work activities are performed in a timely manner and cost effective manner while maintaining the highest quality performance; manage and oversee all personnel and resources utilized; identify and maintain a management structure and organization with overall project control and authority for the performance of the work; and contribute to the progress reporting; and incidental quality assurance of all contract deliverables.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities:

The SSE PM Support the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) by providing information related to the RFQ performance. Support monthly deliverable submission to include summary of activities performed as well as financials internally to Leidos as well as external to the customer.

As an SSE the candidate shall plan, lead, and if necessary, conduct site-surveys and use the information acquired to produce a complete documentation of systems, products and services, support equipment, computer, and electronic equipment installations required for the site to fully support mission operations. The SSE shall prepare the sit diagrams and presentation that contain actionable information which is pertinent to individual site of operations. The SSE shall maintain all system documentation to include system diagram, test plans and status of all configuration items. The SSE shall plan, prepare and conduct on the job training to FBI and junior Quoter personnel, as required.

The SSE shall coordinate with RCFL system administrators to support the mission of the FBI and specifically, the Digital Evidence Field Operations Unit (DEFOU).

Minimum Qualifications:

* BS degree and at least 12 years of experience in configuration management of IT systems in an enterprise environment
* An active TS is required for this position
* Systems/equipment installations and implement and validate installation of components to systems. Components include but are not limited to , mass storage arrays, servers, network switches, routers, firewalls, hypervisors ad visualization sub-systems
* Configuration, installing, and managing Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)
* Prototype new solutions to IT challenges and optimize existing systems in light of new technologies
* Articulate problems/resolutions to management
* Installation and management of workstations, including end-user workstations and connect end-point devised
* Provide prompt, efficient, and professional support for multiple customer locations
* Provide advanced troubleshooting and support others
* Resolve operational technical challenges and articulate ideas, concepts, and requirements to management
* Provide ad-hoc network, systems and workstation support
* Provide technical assistance to facilities that require monitoring on site and technical implementations of solutions
* Contribution to National Program Office (NPO) Regional Computer Forensic Laboratories by evaluating efficiencies of existing technologies on site and reporting findings
* Provide tier 2 and tier 3 technical support defining root cause
* Provide research and development to assist with deploying new technologies to sites and making recommendation based on engineered design
* Current knowledge of industry trends and advancements and ability to learn new technologies by their own initiative or as directed
