Job Description

MetroStar Systems is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to provide server implementation and operational support for a medium scale Department of State IT moderation project.

You'll love our {company/technology/position} if: (This is the stuff you MUST have to be a fit)

* You have a minimum of 5 years specialized systems engineering experience with a BA/BS. Alternatively, 3 to 5 years of specialized experience with a Master's or above.
* You have experience with Windows Server administration and active directory design and role based access control
* You have experience with VMware ESX administration and support
* You have experience with system monitoring (i.e. SCOM)
* You have experience with enterprise backup (i.e. CommVault)
* You have experience operating under a secure environment to include deploying security controls to the Windows operating systems
* You have experience creating server images which support multiple server generations
* You have an active Top Secret clearance

* You have a VMware certification (VCP, VCAP or Design Expert)You have experience with storage attacahed networks administration
* You have experience with IIS, .Net application deployment and administration
* You have experience with SharePoint 2013/2016 installation/configuration and a working knowledge of Apache deployment and administration

What your day will look like:

* You'll assist with the documentation, deployment and administration of redundant 24/7 IT systems
* You'll assist with the requirements, implementation plan and Standard Operating procedures (SOPs) associated with system implementation and operation
* You'll manage resources hosted on servers such as file shares and applications
* You'll analyze IT issues, evaluate alternatives and make logical recommendations based on findings
* You'll define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions
* You'll manage enterprise class hardware (IBM, Dell, HP/Compaq servers, Tape/Disk Libraries, Ethernet/FC Switches, storage arrays
* You'll create and maintain operational scripts (i.e. batch, shell, VB, PowerShell)
