Job Description

Copart is a looking for a Senior Level System Engineer (X86) to support, troubleshoot and maintain the IT Infrastructure of internal and external customer environments. This includes network connectivity and utilization, Windows server administration, Linux server administration, enterprise storage management, virtualization, performance tuning, backup and restore. The System Engineer will research and resolve technical problems under the supervision of The System Engineering Manager. This position will also develop documentation of client networks and systems. Seeking team players with excellent communication skills and can manage assignments dependently. The ideal candidate will have a nurturing personality and the desire to help in the development and mentoring of others.

Candidates must have a System Administration background with 5+ years of experience and have worked in an agile, project-orientated, enterprise environment.

Job duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to server and network topology, equipment, best practices, and configuration(s).
* Develop and Follow project plans, design, and implement solutions.
* Standard system administration duties including server install, System/Application installs and patch management, problem determination and resolution, log analysis, etc.
* Assist with providing Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, operating system management, network security, directory services, server virtualization, using system backup and restore, system and system monitoring, application installation and configuration.
* Assist and generates with weekly reports.
* Utilize superior customer service skills at all times.
* Stay current with system information, changes, and updates.
* Ability to work under pressure, solve complex technical problems quickly (minutes or hours), automate processes and solutions using available tools and develop in-house tools where necessary.
* Demonstrated proficiency of Red Hat Linux and CentOS Linux distributions.
* Understanding and ability to diagnose and troubleshoot enterprise class servers.
* Understanding of TCP/IP and other networking and data communication technologies, with basic knowledge of distributed computing environments.
* Solid proficiency in one or more of the UNIX shells, Python, PERL, Ruby equivalent script preferred.
* Strong documentation skills.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related field
* Experience with VMWare, Linux, and Scripting (Puppet, Bash, PowerShell, or Python)
* Experience with previous system or hardware administration
* Experience with Backup Software, Basic Storage Administration, and Windows Server 2k8 and 2016
