POSITION DESCRIPTION: Position will be a part of the Systems Engineering/DevOps team and will be responsible for systems management, systems engineering, and dev-ops strategy. Position will work with Unix System's Administration (Linx, Redhat, Debian), FreeBSD, Open BSD, and Solaris in a high-volume service environment; utilize knowledge of operational and security best practices and configuration management; perform software packaging and code deployment; utilize Open Source Software OSS); work with NoSQL/Web2.0 software like Cassandra, MongoDB, Couch DB, Hadoop, MogileFS, Varnish, Redis, Memcache, Active/Zero and Solr. Work with containers as well as container orchestration products.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a related field or its equivalent; and 5 (five) years of progressive post-baccalaureate work experience in the job offered, or in a related position. Experience must include demonstrable knowledge of or experience with the following: Demonstrable understanding of Unix Fundamentals as well as OS commands/utilities; Demonstrable understanding of TCP/IP and network architecture/routing as well as core internet services; Demonstrable programming ability with at least one interpreted language (perl, python, php, or ruby); Demonstrable programming ability with a shell scripting language such as bash, or korn; Experience with Configuration Management platforms (Chef, Puppet or Ansible); Familiarity with software and/or hardware load balancers; Understanding of containers & orchestration (Docker or k8s); Demonstrable knowledge of operational and security best practices; Familiarity with MySQL or PostgreSQL and their replication and scalability strategies; Demonstrable knowledge of server quality hardware and its deployment in a large server environment as well as a Cloud Provider such as AWS or GCE; Experience using Open Source Software (OSS); Experience with Startup or dotcom.
