Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities

The mission of the Sensor Integration, Architecture and Acquisition Department (SIAA) within the National Intelligence Division is to provide enterprise-level architecting, systems engineering and acquisition support to the Architecture and Engineering Group at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). SIAA seeks a Senior Systems Acquisition Engineer to work directly with the NGA client as part of multiple small teams engaged in various aspects of current acquisition lifecycles. The Engineer will apply their own expertise, coordinate across stakeholder boundaries, and manage Aerospace engineering technical resources to assist in the development of future ground and space architectures.

Key Functions

* Lead and assist the development and acquisition of geospatial intelligence systems.
* Deliver independent and objective advice on NGA support and integration into various Intelligence Community agencies.
* Assist and advise the development of systems engineering expertise, analytic capability development, and geospatial intelligence budget planning and programming.
* Provide project planning, tasking, and technical management of Aerospace matrixed resources.
* Deliver independent and objective reviews on ground systems architecture geospatial intelligence actions, documents, strategies, plans, and issues.
* Maintain close and frequent interaction with a government customer, SETA, and contractor personnel.
* Apply systems engineering vision to multiple units throughout the program life cycle.
* Collaborate with Intelligence Community (IC) programs and other IC offices to develop and refine various existing and new program mission CONOPS, tradecraft, and technologies related to specific spectral phenomenologies.
* Draw upon established and trusted relationships with the IC, National Laboratories, and related programs to offer a depth of technical knowledge.
* Accelerate seamless integration of data from mission partner programs and sensors.



This position is primarily based in Springfield, VA. Occastional travel to Chantilly, VA and other locations is required.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in science, engineering or related technical discipline from a recognized institution
* A minimum of 12 years of experience
* Experience in systems engineering, network architecture and/or sensor integration technologies.
* Ability to work in a highly dynamic Program Office environment with a mix of government, FFRDC, and SETA personnel
* Ability to travel
* Familiarity with program management, DOD budget programming, requirements, and acquisition processes
* Current TS/SSBI with active SCI
* This position requires the ability to have and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

* Expertise in the application of space-based intelligence systems in support of strategic intelligence and combat operations
* Experience and expertise in geospatial intelligence collection systems, operations, and intelligence analysis
* Deep understanding of NRO and commercial collection platforms and systems
* Demonstrated knowledge of MBSE/DE tools and functions
* Architecture development of satellite vehicles and ground systems
* Demonstrated expertise with modeling and simulation facilitating trade analysis to understand the relative priority of system designs
