As a Senior System Security Engineer in Cerner Government Services, you will participate in the defining strategy and architecture for the Federal systems, participate in Risk Assessment activities, and participate in the development of process and procedures related to Federal systems to ensure Cerner delivers and maintains an highly available clinical solution that meets Federal security guidelines as well as performance expected by the clinicians. You will participate in deployment activities related to new solutions and technologies. In scope will be participation in the Environment Management Operations Center to assess the potential impact related to program activities across clients and environments related to new software releases and patches, test plans, implementation activities, and cyber assessments. Based on the collisions/opportunities identified, you will participate in the development of Courses of Action (COA) to address the collision/opportunity. You will provide technical support on system and application performance issues and participate in incident, change and problem management functions

Applicants for U.S. based positions with Cerner Corporation must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Due to specific client contract requirements, this position requires that the successful candidate be a U.S. citizen. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. The client contract also requires receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for the position.

Some Cerner positions may be obligated to comply with client-facing requirements and occupational health requests, including but not limited to, an immunization set, an annual flu shot, an annual TB screen, an updated background check, and/or an updated drug screen.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems or related field or equivalent work experience
* At least 3 years of information technology security work experience
* Receipt of the appropriate government security clearance card applicable for your position
* Due to the client contract you will be assigned, this position requires you to be a U.S. citizen

Preferred Qualifications:

* At least 2 years of system management or implementation work experience

Expectations:

* Willing to travel up to 20% as needed
* Ability to obtain the following certifications within 6 months of employment: A+CE, Network+ CE, SSCP, CCNA-Security
* Ability to participate in on-call rotation as needed
* Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the District of Columbia area
