The Software Engineering team delivers next-generation software application enhancements and new products for a changing world. Working at the cutting edge, we design and develop software for platforms, peripherals, applications and diagnostics - all with the most advanced technologies, tools, software engineering methodologies and the collaboration of internal and external partners. Our Data Protection division is hiring multiple software engineers in Irvine to work on our PowerProtect Data Management (PPDM) product. The team that is responsible for Identity and Access management to the product has an immediate opening for a senior engineer in our Irvine office.

Key Responsibilities

* Design, develop, and maintain software using Java and Spring Framework technologies.
* Participate in architecture discussions and reviews.
* Participate in milestone demos and constructively weigh and integrate feedback from Product Designers and customers.
* Work in a distributed-team environment.
* Work closely with other development teams, QA, and customer support.

Essential Requirements

* Solid Java programming skills with knowledge of OOD and OOP
* Experience with Java REST APIs
* Experience with Spring Framework
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
* Effective in a fast paced, dynamic environment; must be able to pick up new technologies quickly
* Ability to assist with Test Automation and Test Execution for continuous quality improvement
* Bachelor's degree with 5+ years or advanced degree with 3+ years experience or equivalent experience

Desirable Requirements

* Knowledge of network and application protocols and their associated security implications (TCP/IP, HTTP, TLS, SSH, DNS, etc.)
* Understanding of basic security concepts - authentication, authorization, signing, encryption, SSL/TLS, SSH/SFTP, PKI, X509 certificates and PGP.
* Knowledge of software/OS product security Requirements/Compliance/Certification
* Experience with a DevOps tools such Ansible/Puppet
* Knowledge of Agile development methodology (Scrum, XP, etc.)
