BCBSMA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Digital Enterprise Technology team. This is a great role for a versatile full stack developer capable of working on multiple platforms and technology stacks. In this position, you will be an integral part of the development of web services and infrastructure to support our product back-end and web/mobile console. This will include account and device management, data intelligence services, and integration with 3rd party systems and services. You will get the opportunity to work with our global team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our digital products.

What you will do

* Design, develop, and test new features and enhancements for BCBSMA Digital product portfolio
* Develop tests for modern web-based UI and backend services and automate tests cases for software features and functionality
* Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
* Troubleshoot defects and perform root cause analysis
* Fix bugs and improve system performance
* Drive discovery and evaluation of new technologies to maximize development efficiency and performance
* Provide assistance to QA in creating continuous integration test plans and systems
* Install products, execute test plans, detect defects, report bugs, apply/test patches and verify product documentation
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile software development environment



Essential Requirements

* Java and JavaScript programming experience
* Experience with test frameworks such as Junit and/or Mocha with understanding of test methodologies
* Familiarity with continuous integration and CI frameworks such as Jenkins
* Working knowledge of Linux
* Experience with, or interest in, modern web UI applications
* Good understanding of software engineering principles
* Ability to troubleshoot issues
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* BS in Computer Science or related field and 2+ years of experience



Desirable Requirements

* Experience with RESTful web services
* Knowledge or experience with Selenium or Cypress
* Familiarity with AngularJS or Node.js
* Experience working in an Agile software development environment
