Senior Software Engineer, Developer Tools and Services

Overview:

As a Senior Software Engineer working with the Weedmaps Developer Tools and Services team, you will create internal software to be used by other team members to ship code quickly, launch test environments and interface with our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with the Infrastructure and Application Development teams to help shape the tooling pipelines at Weedmaps. As a major player in this emerging industry, we have an opportunity to help define the market landscape and we invite you to help in that effort.

Responsibilities:

* Take ownership of our internal codebases and advocate for best practices in those codebases.
* Work with stakeholders to define and prioritize features for our internal tools.
* Work with the Development teams to reduce toil in our CI/CD pipelines and development flow.
* Work with the Infrastructure teams to build out self-service operations in our automation framework.
* Advocate for the DevOps culture here at Weedmaps.

Qualifications:

* Polyglot with proficiency in Ruby, Node or Go
* You have professional experience frontend technologies, web frameworks, backend services, building and consuming APIs and database technologies.
* Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
* Love taking on the challenge of learning new technologies
* Self-starter attitude with a disciplined work ethic
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree / work experience
* Minimum of 5 years software development experience at startup / mid-sized companies

Pluses:

* Experience and comfort with AWS
* Experience with frontend frameworks such as React and Meteor
* Experience with GraphQL
