Position Overview: This Senior Software Developer would work with highly motivated, high efficiency team working on creating custom web applications and software systems to help pathologist and scientist to help cancer patients.

Job Description:

This Senior software developer will be a hands-on contributor for a well-formed development group. This person will play a key role in shaping the direction of future development efforts of workflow suite here at FMI. Our teams follow an agile/scrum development process and expect our team members to be proactive in diving in the project and collaboratively figuring out the right solutions to our business needs.

Responsibilities:

* Work with a team of software engineers to help drive sound engineering design, process and quality practices and perform acceptance engineering.
* Work with and help junior UI development team members by establishing sound coding and engineering practices.
* Work closely with product owners, key business and technical stakeholders to ensure FMI is building the best products.
* Ensure the maintainability and quality of the product code base by helping establish clear technical roadmaps geared toward reducing future technical debt.
* Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities into the platform.
* Work in an agile/scrum driven environment to deliver new innovative products including participation in daily scrum, code review and knowledge sharing sessions.
* Contribute as a hands-on developer.

Basic Qualifications (Position Skill Set):

* 6+ years in building production quality software using at least one JavaScript Framework (React/Ember/Angular).
* Must possess exceptional communication and documentation skills, with a strong knowledge of the software development process.
* Strong understanding of code versioning tools (GitHub).
* Strong experience working with front end and back end development tools (Redux/MOBx/ Webpack/Node/NPM).
* Strong understanding of RESTFul API development.
* Strong understanding of database related technologies (oracle/sql/postgress).
* Experience with building/deploying/maintaining software solutions in a cloud-based architecture using AWS ECS.
* Experience with unit test framework (Mocha/Jasmine).
* Experience with E2E testing frameworks (Selenium/ Selenide).
* Comfortable working with Messaging queue architecture and event-based models.
* Comfortable developing bash (or other shell) scripts.
* B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS, or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications (Communication + Teamwork):

* Background in biology or previous BioTech experience.
* Experience developing software in a regulated environment.
* Experience working with the Atlassian suite including Jira and Confluence.
* Experience with qTest.
* AWS Cloud certification(s).
