Amazon Pantry is a fast-growing innovative e-commerce program, launched in US in April 2014. With the unique patent pending business model, Prime Pantry enables Amazon to expand its selection to large number of items which are cost prohibitive to ship individually. The market segment of low-priced items represents a major part of retail revenue but minimum e-commerce penetration and thus huge potential growth. Prime Pantry has been one of the fastest growing programs in the history of Amazon. It had expanded to 8 countries at the end of 2016.

Amazon Pantry owns and innovate in a wide range of technologies and platforms. This includes the end-to-end experience across platforms and devices globally that enable consumers to easily find, purchase, and reorder the essential products they need and use every day. Doing so will require the invention of many new capabilities and innovative approaches across selection, supply chain, search and discovery, evaluation and purchase, up-sell and repurchase via a variety of new formats and delivery options.

We are looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET III) to join our team in building highly visible, robust automation tools and framework to tackle hard complex hard to solve problems

As a hands-on Sr. SDET, you will make a large impact on dynamic, fast moving Amazon businesses by improving Pantry team's efficiency and approach to testing. Working backwards from each business to each service, you will identify the right sets of tools to build to achieve the best quality and customer experience. You will lead test automation efforts for critical and complex technical projects spanning multiple tech teams and businesses. You will be responsible for driving improvements in test tools, test environments, pipelines and reporting mechanisms as well as influence the implementation of the right solutions.

As a QA champion on the engineering team, you will own the vision for test infrastructures, build frameworks that allow developers to easily write reliable tests, and invent new mechanisms for ensuring that every change we make can be deployed safely and quickly. You will own a broad scope, including maintaining the functionality of our use cases as well as non-functional requirements such as latency and availability. You will help solve our most difficult challenges, and you will coach other engineers to foster a culture of relentless high-standards.

The ideal candidate for this role has a strong track record and proficiency in building efficient and innovative test tools. They are a pragmatic problem-solver with high judgment who brings an experienced perspective to balance quality and strategy trade-offs to meet the needs of DART teams, projects, and products. They will bring clarity to complexity, probing assumptions, illuminating pitfalls with data, and fostering shared understanding. They have specialized knowledge analyzing test procedures, inspecting architectures and developing test infrastructure and tools that provide confidence in product quality.

The primary responsibilities for this role include:

Envision, design and develop tools, frameworks and testing infrastructure to facilitate the testing by multiple teams and Amazon business. This includes analyzing requirements, assessing testability, identifying automation opportunities and implementing them for projects where the work will be run by multiple businesses in parallel.

Lead and actively participate in design review, test planning and tools reviews, aligning teams across organization towards coherent test tool strategy.

Lead effort towards simplifying test tools and technologies in terms of efficiency, effectiveness stability, extensibility, and scalability.
