About GoDaddy
GoDaddy powers the world's largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures. With nearly 18.5 million customers worldwide and over 77 million domain names under management, GoDaddy is the place people come to name their idea, build a professional website, attract customers and manage their work. Our mission is to give our customers the tools, insights and the people to transform their ideas and personal initiative into success. To learn more about the company visit www.GoDaddy.com.
The GoDaddy eCommerce Platform has an opening on our fraud engineering team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team, applying new technologies to solve big problems that directly impact the company's bottom line.
Role specifics - We have reinvented our base commerce system to be globally distributed, robust, and fully automated. As part of this effort we are adding a modern catalog that services queries for our products and offers (bundles) for a mix of customers and resellers. Done well (and that's how we will do it!) this task requires a mix of eligibility scoring, personalized recommendations, and prioritization. From a technology perspective, we will leverage customer/venture context, experimentation, machine learning, etc. with an emphasis on maximizing payoff with the least amount of complexity. This is a cloud-hosted system that will be deployed worldwide spanning numerous data centers and markets. Do you have the skillset required to achieve this? Does this pique your interest?
At GoDaddy, we are seeking a different type of developer: people who know the reality of keeping the business running while simultaneously reinventing the core systems. Developers who engineer systems that are performant, self-healing, easily monitored, and fault-tolerant from the ground up. Do we care about the technologies you have worked with? Absolutely! But what we value most is the experience and insight to see beyond the current tools to the essence of great architecture and engineering. Does this describe you? If so, come join our fast-moving, fun company and make a real impact! (You're tired of just being a cog in the big-company machine anyway, right?)
Requirements:
5+ years of full-time software engineering experience
Strong understanding of modern queries and recommendations systems
Strong computer science fundamentals
Strong OOD Skills In Java or equivalent language
Bachelor's degree or beyond in CS or a relevant technical field or equivalent experience.
Experience with cloud platform technologies such as AWS, Google Platform, OpenStack, etc.
Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL technologies
Experience with RESTful API design
Understanding of microservices
Linux experience
Highly Preferred:
Experience working with commerce systems
Experience working in an Agile Development Environment
Experience developing in C++, C#, NodeJS
Experience with continuous integration
Experience building on Docker and Kubernetes
