The Senior Software Developer will be a member of a leading edge, dynamic technical program - NEWTTON. This program is a small development program in Washington DC/Chantilly VA with Agile Development and migration to the cloud. This development program is a workflow tool to engage linguists for the Intelligence Community.

The Senior Software Developer will design, assemble, test, document and maintain the software system. They will participate in daily Agile Stand Ups, technical exchange meetings, and release planning discussions. The software application is currently developed on a virtualized development environment and deployed into a data center. The system is built on a pure AWS infrastructure, you will translate user requirements, help define our roadmap, design, develop, deploy, and test end-to-end. The Senior Software Developer will also participate in cloud migration activities and will play a role in designing the new AWS Cloud based development environment.

Primary Responsibilities

* Solve complex software development issues
* Work on System Change Requests

oProvide acceptance criteria for user stories

oDevelop fixes for bugs or software enhancements

oDocument changes in architecture

oProvide Test Plans

* Develop user stories for work to be completed
* Attend Agile ceremonies - sprint planning, stand ups, release planning, demos, and retrospectives

Basic Qualifications

* BS/BA Degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Master's Degree with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience (in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology)
* Cleared at the Top Secret level with the ability to pass a CI polygraph
* Experience with one or more development languages: Java, Javascript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3
* Experience with DevOps frameworks and tools
* Experience with cloud-based software development
* Strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience developing in AWS
* Experience with any of the following development: C++, Powershell scripting, Angular JS, Node.JS, Python
* Experience with Agile Software Development
* Experience with Oracle Databases
* Experience with the following Software Applications: JBOSS, SOLR, Active Directory, Maven, SVN, Git, Artifactory, JIRA, Confluence, FishEye, Crucible
* AWS Certification
* SAFe Scaled Agilist Certification
* Experience with CI/CD, test & deployment automation (Jenkins, GitHub, CloudFormation)
* Experience with Oracle and SOA interfaces to web-based applications
