Job Description

Argonne invites applications for a scientist to serve as the intellectual lead for a growing program in the area of Quantum Information Sciences. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, experimental efforts in quantum coherent devices and systems, quantum imaging and sensing, quantum computation and communication, and quantum measurement. An appointment will be made with an Argonne division appropriate to the expertise of the scientist at a rank commensurate with their experience, and will also include an affiliation with the Institute for Molecular Engineering.

Successful candidates will be expected to establish and maintain a strong research program at Argonne, including coordination and collaboration with scientists both at Argonne and at the University of Chicago. Joint appointment as a faculty member at the University of Chicago may be considered for appropriate candidates.

Position Requirements

Qualifications:

* Ph.D. in a relevant field of study and have an outstanding research record with a minimum of 7 years of experience beyond a Ph.D.
* Comprehensive skills and abilities in acquiring and maintaining relationships with multiple funding sources including the Basic Energy Sciences (BES) program and other federal sponsors.
* Considerable skill in oral and written communications skills and the ability to work with high level internal and external contacts.
