Are you interested in applying your research, engineering development, and data-science skills to world-changing problems? Are you interested in driving the development of methods, models and systems for state-of-the-art optimization, control and fulfillment systems? If so, then this is the job for you.
Modeling and Optimization team develops tools and models to optimize our current network and drives the design of our future networks. We are looking for motivated individuals with expertise in machine learning, combinatorial and network optimization, simulation-based design, and/or control theory to join our applied research team.
Modeling and Optimization team is focused on development of analytical models and automation tools fed by large scale data in order to support strategic decisions aiming to improve the delivery speed and cost effectiveness of our supply chain network in the dynamic and rapidly grooving nature of Amazon. You will be responsible for inventing solutions for a wide array of problems in network optimization, optimal control systems, capacity management, and transportation system design for Amazon's fulfillment networks in North America, European, and Japan, China, and India. You will identify and evaluate opportunities to reduce variable costs by improving fulfillment center processes, transportation operations and guide the execution of operational plans. In addition, you will help create the key performance indicators to quantify improvements on the fulfillment costs resulting from the application of these optimization models and tools. You will closely work with engineers, business stakeholders, research colleagues, and IT groups in incorporating the essential tradeoffs within the models and take an active role in effectively communicating the recommendations to senior management.
The qualified candidate will have a proven history of driving critical research and development and developing in-depth analytical understanding of systems.
