Job Description

Barclays Services Corp. seeks a Senior Quantitative Algorithmic Developer for its New York, New York location.

Duties: Within global financial services organization, develop algorithms for trading strategies, including strategy logic improvement, instrumentation, hardware and network setup, and performance tuning. Increase liquidity and revenue by developing infrastructure for new trading venues. Analyze market data trends to identify new trading opportunities and conduct back tests. Introduce new features to the electronic trading platform and provide augmented capability for trading. Work with traders to develop new application features and improve platform aesthetic. Implement exchange market data feed handlers and order entry interfaces. Act as point of contact for downstream and upstream systems receiving data from and feeding data to platform. Responsible for project management including maintaining work backlog, gathering business requirements, holding prioritization meetings, design, development, user acceptance testing and rollout. Responsible for trade support, including responding to queries from business users, performing diagnostics, monitoring platforms and fixing bugs. Conduct platform maintenance to ensure compliance conformance and proper risk monitoring. Identify new technologies to facilitate evolution of platform. Mentor junior developers. May handle additional projects and/or responsibilities as business demands require.

Requirements: Minimum of Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, and one (1) year of experience as a Software Developer, or related position. Must have at least one (1) year of experience with the following: Data structures and algorithms; Java and Python programming; Open Source Tools, PHP, and Scripting languages; Windows and Linux operating systems; Platform hardware and network configuration.
