Job Description

General Responsibilities

Serve as a Senior Automation Engineer and Quality Assurance Engineer for a series of projects and products. This involves developing test automation of application features and functionality as well as their related performance and scalability. Developing new processes and tools to improve the quality of our products and ensure the team moves toward test driven development. Manage to a timeline, and communicate status to IT and PMO and identify when project scope or timelines change, or additional resources are needed.

Function:

* Owns overall release quality. Manages releases and their content from a quality perspective. Owns all activities on 'release day'.
* Develops and enables entire software team to develop automated scripts based on features of specific applications, their performance and scalability using a flexible framework extensible to the development team.
* Collaborates with QA Specialists and the development team to identify and prioritize functions and features that require test automation. Develops and implements best practices for test automation.
* Analyzes test results for accuracy and compliance. Finds root cause of problems and recognizes recurring issues; resolves, or contributes to the resolution process.
* Manages quality acceptance criteria. Maintains documentation, user accounts and test data used by the team.
* Records and maintains source control of automation scripts.
* Coordinates efforts with software engineers to identify performance opportunities, as well as to ensure testability issues are addressed during design lifecycle.
* Develops new and refines existing QA processes, tools, and testing infrastructure to enhance quality and productivity.
* Logs bugs / issues with appropriate detail Review bugs and set the appropriate severity level.

Mandatory Requirements

* B.S. or higher in Computer Science/Quality Engineering or related field with a minimum of 1 year software development experience required.
* 5 - 8 years of experience in software testing environment for web based and mobile applications, one of which is related to functional and performance automation tools and concepts.
* Demonstrated experience owning and driving quality throughout a software development organization.
* Demonstrated test driven development experience.
* Solid quality assurance and analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of web-based technologies and products; proven background with test scripts and automation tools.
* Experience in day-to-day operations of a quality assurance and test environment with the ability to explain automation concepts to cross functional teams, requiring effective communication skills.
* Experience with multiple automation frameworks, their deployment across multiple development teams and knowledge of Spec Flow or related behavior driven development tools.
* Coding skills in JavaScript/AJAX, database design and SQL.
* DevOps and continuous integration experience.
* Strong organizational skills required.
* Ability to work in a fast paced, detail-oriented environment.
