Position Overview

Align is seeking a Senior Program Manager in our New York office who can take a leadership role working with a great team and acting as a key contributor in the continued success of our Workplace Technology Solution. The Senior Program Manager will report directly to the Professional Service Director. This is an ideal opportunity for a polished program manager that has experience managing large IT relocation programs and office technology build outs. This should be a sales-minded individual that is aspiring to expand into more of a leadership and strategic client relationship management role. This person will:

* Manage and grow key client relationships and assist with client presentations and business development efforts as needed
* Lead large digital workplace or workplace technology programs through all aspects of project delivery including technology relocation and new office IT infrastructure design and build-out
* Exceptional communication and leadership skills are required

The professional will assist with client relationship management and sales initiatives, but the primary responsibility is project and program management. The sales support may include delivering capabilities presentations and assisting with proposals and closing activities. This person will manage the delivery of these programs of work, and maintaining accurate control of all resources and activities to ensure successful engagements. The Senior Program Manager will assist with leading and mentoring other Align professionals in the corporate spirit and philosophy of Align.

We seek an energetic professional who has a proven track record delivering IT programs of work, while managing teams in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Qualified candidates should be familiar with most of the following: PMO and project management; workplace design and construction; trading floor technologies; collaboration tools; audio/video system design and implementation; physical security and smart office systems. The position is hands on, with the ideal candidate providing active leadership on large-scale enterprise and SMB transformation programs/projects.

* The Senior Program Manager will be based in our New York City office; however, this person will be required to travel to and work at client locations in the New York Metropolitan area and within the United States (up to 25 percent); rare international travel maybe possible based on client needs

Responsibilities Delivery and Engagement Management (75 percent)

* Responsible for all levels of engagement, including proposal development, client administration, resourcing, adherence to profit margin outlined as part of the proposal, risk management through program/project delivery and supervisory oversight of delivery team
* Act as technology representative at client construction meetings as well as internal project team affiliates including IT and Facilities, etc.
* Provide executive-level consulting and advice to clients and management regarding all aspects of workplace technology, including audiovisual systems, workplace management solutions, smart office environmental controls, digital signage and IP television, and a large variety of other technologies
* Engage clients using diverse tools such as process review and design, needs and risk assessment, and industry benchmarking as needed
* Collaboratively develop client business requirements, formulate solutions, develop business case justifications, provide cost/benefit analysis, communicate risks/benefits clearly and expertly manage client expectations throughout the project life cycle while ensuring profitable engagement
* Lead clients in the development of tactical and strategic views to ensure business and IT alignment, reduce risk, and optimal future/target state and ROM
* Responsible for all senior management-level presentations to client with needs analysis findings and next steps as it pertains to the engagement
* Manage overall engagement profitability, revenue, margins, utilization goals, pricing and contract administration while providing leadership, mentoring, and advice to internal Align professionals

Business Development (15 percent)

* Leverage relationships with clients, owner's representatives and architects to help win business and be included in RFP's.
* Collaboratively set relevant account strategies and identify opportunities to expand client relationships or the scope of engagements when appropriate
* Actively participate in all levels of business development by partnering with the sales team and other professionals in presales activities, proposal development, solution pricing, resourcing and client presentations
* Communicate the impact of technology and industry trends and the value of each of workplace technology services around these trends to sales, marketing and account management
* Foster strategic partner relationships with vendors, owner's representatives and architects to pursue sales opportunities and help to develop them into sustainable sources of income and expand our presence and market share
* Manage existing and new vendor and partner relationships

Solution development and knowledge sharing (10 percent)

* Drive continuous enhancement of solution offerings, consulting methodologies, and provide thought leadership in the collaborative development of marketing materials and work flow/process documents
* Work with the resource manager to develop capabilities and skill sets of existing team members, including helping to coach and mentor a team of over 20 professionals

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in business administration or an IT-related field required
* At least 10 years of strategic IT project delivery experience managing complex projects focused workplace technology implementation and large relocation projects, including design, implementation, user relocation
* Experience managing related business-critical IT workplace technology projects such as physical layer design, IT construction project management, cabling infrastructure, AV integration, physical security, end user relocation and new office build-out
* Prior professional services or consulting experience managing large technology relocation projects is strongly preferred
* A strong professional network and successful track record working with New York architects, commercial real estate services firms and owner's representatives
* Demonstrated ability to work as an external consultant to drive change in client firms
* Experience managing teams with direct project/program leadership
* Background should include a mix of industry and consulting experience, working technical knowledge and a strategic understanding of current and future technology requirements
* Excellent conceptualization, articulation, presentation and facilitation skills are essential
* Understand the business/strategic architecture considerations related to information technology projects within large, global infrastructure and Fortune 500 companies
* Must be knowledgeable in the following areas: workplace design and construction; technology collaboration tools; BYOD tools and techniques; workplace architecture and construction; audiovisual system design and implementation; telepresence platforms and smart office systems
* Prior P&L management experience is beneficial
