THE CHALLENGE

Over the last decade, we have built a world-class software as a service (SaaS) platform for event organizers, enabling millions of events globally. We are looking for a highly skilled, experienced technical product managers who can help our platform continue to scale.

THE TEAM

We're a people-focused Engineering organization: the women and men on our team value working together in small teams to solve big problems, supporting an active culture of mentorship and inclusion, and pushing themselves to learn new things daily. Pair programming, weekly demos, tech talks, and quarterly hackathons are at the core of how we've built our team and product. We believe in engaging with the community, regularly hosting free events with some of the top technical speakers, and actively contributing to open source software (check out Britecharts as an example!). Our technology spans across web, mobile, API, big data, machine learning, search, physical point of sale, and scanning systems. Meet some of the team.

THE ROLE

The Back End Platform Team sits at the core of our platform and their clients are our internal developers. This team is responsible for defining the standards for back-end architecture at Eventbrite, for building and evangelizing our microservices architecture and the building blocks that empower our other engineering teams to quickly develop software and APIs that are consistent, performant, and easily deployed and monitored.

The technical product manager on this team will work closely with the engineers to gather feedback from the rest of the engineering organization, to build requirements to continue improving our back-end architecture, to build and execute on a technical roadmap with the team, and to ensure that proper documentation and training is provided to all back-end engineers.

* 5+ years as a technical product manager working with and for developers
* Computer Science degree
* Experience managing APIs and back-end systems
* Experience working with a very technical team on developer-facing products
* Ability to take initiative and produce results with great communication and collaboration skills
* Passion to learn and to mentor others

BONUS POINTS

* Preference will be given to former engineers with strong back-end skills
* Familiarity with microservices architectures and associated tooling
* Experience being on a scrum team and/or is a scrum master
