PPT Solutions is looking for a Senior Performance Test Engineer in Springfield, Virginia to support a large-scale test effort.

Description of Responsibilities for the Senior Performance Test Engineer:

The Senior Performance Test Engineer will provide support in developing performance testing methodologies, test plans, automated test script development, executing Performance and Load test scripts, reporting/tracking defects and working with the development team to resolve issues. The Senior Performance Test Engineer will serve as back-up to Program Manager and/or Team Lead. The candidate will work closely with the Test Lead and Manager to ensure their work is consistent with the methodologies and coverage thresholds for the team.

Duties include but are not limited to:

* Drive test automation strategy within the DHS CBP Agile development environment
* Strong understanding of performance/Load testing methodologies best practices with ability to provide guidance to testers on test script creation, execution and troubleshooting for complex issues
* Lead performance optimization efforts and participate in performance test requirements reviews
* Strong experience in LoadRunner/Performance Center script creation, execution and troubleshooting
* Conduct root cause analysis of issues and clearly communicate finding to stakeholders
* Ability to develop and review performance test plans and test scenarios
* Strong skills in test results analysis and review
* Provide guidance and coaching to testers on test script creation, execution and troubleshooting for complex issues

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the Senior Performance Test Engineer:

* Master's Degree and 10 years of work related experience; or Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of work related experience
* In-depth knowledge of Performance/Load and Automation testing (UFT and Selenium) approaches and tools
* Hands on experience scripting and developing test automation suites
* Current knowledge of new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education
* 4+ years working with test automation tools such as UFT, Performance Center, Selenium, J-Meter, LoadRunner etc.
* Experience working with Agile, waterfall and iterative methodologies
* Excellent Analytical, defect identification and triaging skills
* Strong communication skills and ability to support team lead as back-up
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Must be able to pass a government background investigation

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for the Senior Performance Test Engineer:

* DHS Active EOD or Suitability
* Experience at Customs and Border Protection
* Knowledge of other automation tools such as Cucumber, JIRA, SoapUI, and Jenkins
