Senior Performance Engineer

Job Description

This position is critical to the growth and continued success of the organization with responsibility for Performance Testing of the group's products and services. Candidate will apply his/her working knowledge of performance testing methodologies and work alongside our Engineering departments to help develop cutting edge software that speeds up the medical trial process.

What will you be doing?

* Plan and coordinate performance testing activities.
* Develop, publish and implement test plans to ensure product quality.
* Write and maintain performance test scripts. Develop performance testing standards.
* Define and track performance testing metrics. Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
* Perform a variety of tasks.
* Work under general supervision; typically reports to a manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required

Collaborate with engineering team to plan and manage performance testing for multiple customers, simultaneously:

* Design test plans and test scripts for API, Web, and Mobile performance needs
* Execute performance test scripts, evaluate and troubleshoot to detect bottlenecks
* Coordinate testing activities with additional QA testers
* Ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, prioritized, documented, tracked, and resolved in a defect tracking system.
* BS/BA in Computer Science/Computer Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
* Must have a working knowledge of performance testing techniques and methodologies with a strong background in performance testing at the API, Web, and Mobile application level.
* Must have experience in Java.
* Must be capable of isolating performance issues to find bottlenecks.
* To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status

Preferred

* 5+ years of performance testing experience
* 3+ years detecting bottlenecks in multi-tier systems
* 3+ years designing/modeling workflow patterns and writing performance test plans
* 3+ years of experience with performance monitoring tools
* 2+ years of JMeter
* 5+ years of object-oriented programming (Java)
* 3+ years of SQL
* 2+ years of any scripting language (JavaScript, Python, PERL, or similar language)
* Experience with JIRA for tracking user stories, as well as defects
* Ability to work cross-functionally with strong attention to detail
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
* Experience with an Agile-based team
