NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Rockville, Maryland (US-MD), United States (US).

Support the installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of agency wide-area networks (WANs) and local-area networks (LANs). Assist in designing and managing the WAN infrastructure and any processes related to the WAN. Provide Production Support of the Network, including: day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution client Networks. Provide second level problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems. Support the dispatch of circuit and hardware vendors involved in the resolution process. Support the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. A working knowledge is desirable in various software systems and architectures, communications protocols: and network hardware devices. Write programs and scripts for network provisioning and configuration. Follows Quality Assurance processes and tests all system changes.

Duties

Provides network solutions for all data center systems, including hardware, software, tools, and facilities. Develops or modifies operating procedures and manuals to solve complex network problems considering network circuits, hardware and protocols, processing platforms hardware and software, and facility systems and cabling. Provides network interface with FDA Business Owners, OIM organization, contractors, and vendor maintenance organizations. Provides analysis and support to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded network performance. Supports integration and test network activities as hardware or applications are migrated from the development environment to the operational environment. Ensures feedback on network test results, problem resolution, and customer satisfaction. Instructs, directs, and oversees the work of other network personnel.

Basic Qualifications

BS Education Requirement

6-8 years of relevant experience or equivalent work experience

The Senior Network Engineer should have experience in managing, operating, and maintaining network systems. This experience should have been in supervising network projects, including the implementation, testing, operations, and maintenance of mainframe, distributed systems, and server-based platforms.
