Senior MicroStrategy Developer (BI Applications and Reporting)

Job Description

The Credit Analytics and Reporting team under Freddie Mac's Single Family Division is currently seeking a Senior MicroStrategy Developer to implement tools and methods of risk evaluation. We are seeking a confident, self-motivated, and creative professional to focus on BI applications and reporting.

Your Work Will Fall into the Following Primary Areas

* Interact with business teams and other stakeholders to understand and recommend BI solutions to meet diverse, complex business requirements
* Develop reports and dashboards for daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting. Develop ad-hoc reports as necessary.
* Contribute and participate in reporting design and code reviews
* Model database tables to support reporting
* Write SQL scripts and SAS jobs to load database tables
* Data analysis to come up with business rules; able to troubleshoot data anomalies
* Model or architect MicroStrategy schema objects
* Perform POCs to assess new technologies/capabilities
* Prepare test cases for UAT, perform testing, and document results
* Support end-user issues and resolve in a timely manner
* Degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Computer Science or related field with 5-7 years related experience
* 5+ years of data analysis/data applications development experience, with a combination of business and technical skills
* Thorough knowledge of all capabilities of the MicroStrategy Suite including the following - Dimensional Modeling, Architect, Developer, Enterprise Manager, Cube Advisor, Cube creation/management/automation, Integrity Manager, Object Manager, Distribution Services, Transaction services, Dossier
* Extensive experience in MicroStrategy development including reports, documents and dashboards. Be able to come up with creative solutions using filters, metrics, custom groups, and other application objects.
* End to end project development experience from gathering requirements, design, development, testing, and support.
* Development of backend data including modeling tables and loading data into tables.
* Minimum 5 years of current and hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases
* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Experience with columnar databases
