Job Description

The Senior Manager, SPS, will be responsible for managing and supporting the continual development and execution of specific Stryker Performance Solutions offerings. This individual will be focused on management and consulting activities supporting profitability, organization structure/development, marketing and growth strategy, as well as quality program development.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Directly manage the consultant team including objective setting, performance management, development, recognition, etc.
* Coach and mentor project team members as needed to complete high-caliber project outputs.
* Develop presentation materials for a range of internal and client stakeholders on multiple projects at once.
* Develop and manage project economics - budget to actual, project finances, project forecasting and reporting.
* Develop and manage project plans and schedules, ensuring that all project resources meet targets.
* Monitor, document and provide awareness to program managers and senior team members as appropriate on all project issues/risks that impact project or related initiatives.
* Lead client engagements including onsite and follow up work.
* Consistently generate opportunities from existing and net new clients.
* Manage client negotiations, contract facilitation, and contract management including proper project scoping and project planning.
* Obtain quick understanding of multiple business areas and client specific issues. Foster strong stakeholder relationships and integrate business objectives with all adjacent teams.
* Design project plans and work streams.
* Identify and recommend changes to objectives, work approach, and resource allocation as needed to meet project objectives.
* Allocate personal work effort appropriately between working team, client stakeholders, and firm leaders.
* Identify potential account issues in a timely manner. Show good judgment in informing and involving leaders to resolve issues. Use appropriate and persuasive influencing strategies.
* Proactively identify opportunities and requirements to extend client lifecycle.
* Scope typical projects with little guidance; develop project cost and risk assessments with some guidance from the partner.
* Develop, capture and monetize firm IP and tools.
* Develop industry and networking relationships to further business development including podium speaking, blogging, white paper development, etc.
* Support sales team's efforts to engage and close assessments and/or engagements.

Education and Special Trainings

* Bachelor's required in business, healthcare or related field. MBA/MHA preferred.

Qualifications and Work Experience

* 10+ years of direct experience with consistently increasing scope and scale of responsibility over that timeframe in healthcare consulting and delivery.
* Demonstrated leadership and people management abilities with a successful track record of motivating and developing talent.
* Experience mentoring/developing junior team members.
* Demonstrated experience leading transformation initiatives and significant change management programs in provider settings.
* Demonstrated ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a cross-functional and team-oriented environment
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain key business relationships
* Demonstrated ability to lead complex initiatives from development through market release
* Demonstrated experience in consulting environments with adept expertise in a range of consulting and analysis frameworks and tools.
* Demonstrated ability and direct experience building, maintaining and acting as primary trusted advisor to clients.
* Demonstrated planning, communication, influencing, and conflict management skills.
* Demonstrated teamwork, collaboration, and leadership skills.
* Demonstrated analytical skills.
* Excellent verbal/written communication.
* Demonstrated ability to hire, train, and engage direct employees.
* Demonstrated ability to maintain and manage both a revenue pipeline and operating expenses for your area of responsibility.
* Deep knowledge and ability to articulate the current state of healthcare related issues including healthcare systems, providers, analytics, service line development, processes, financial systems, regulations, payment and delivery reform issues and opportunities.
