Senior Manager, Software Engineering

At Capital One, we are building out a best in class Commercial Banking platform. As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering, you'll get the chance to lead and work alongside a team that is building out next-generation applications with a modern set of cloud native and open source technologies.

What you'll do:

* Lead a small, agile development team


* Perform complex application design and programming activities in the latest techniques: Golang, Java Spring, Node, React, REST, microservices, AWS/Cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes, containers.


* Provide technical leadership in terms of architecting applications, mentoring developers, making smart technology decisions, etc.


* Collaborate with Product Owners, Designers, and other developers on different permutations to find the best solution possible.


* Deliver solutions to production that knock everyone's socks off.

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelors Degree or military experience
* At least 8 years of software development experience using Java, JavaScript, or Python
* At least 5 years of experience managing software development teams

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters Degree
* 10+ years of experience in application development using Java, J2EE or Python
* 6+ years of experience in Agile environments
* 2+ years of experience with AWS or Jenkins
