THE ROLE:

We call this role "Sr. Manager, Software Development", but in other words, you are the architect that will design and construct the next generation of eCommerce platform for digital health products for Metagenics.You will be working with a unique and gifted team developing new, exciting and cutting-edge products. You will be providing them with the vision and guiding them through executing on that vision and adjusting the strategy according to business requirements.

Your team consists of a multidisciplinary group of front-end engineers, back-end engineers, UI/UX, and business people engaged in a fast-paced mission to deliver these new products. You will deliver these life-saving products with them.

What you'll do:

* Manage a team of high caliber Software Engineers working on building world class, scalable distributed systems
* Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach Software Development Engineers at different levels of experience
* Manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments within an Agile/Scrum environment
* Contribute to and lead design, architecture, process and development discussions
* Work with the team members across the organization to understand and incorporate business requirements into product solutions
* Lead design and development of technical solutions to ensure a top-quality customer experience in e-commerce products
* Lead efforts to realize a flexible and scalable software platform architecture
* Manage the development process to shorten time to market, reduce defects, improve code quality and measure the success of product capabilities
* Ensure a robust software delivery process through clear procedures as well as automated build, test, and deployment capabilities
* Foster a culture of learning, mentor junior members of the development team
* Lead integrations with external platforms using APIs

What you'll need:

Experience / Training / Education

* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
* 3+ years' experience leading engineering teams (including a combination of experience hiring, mentoring, managing performance, and providing technical leadership and design guidance)
* Java software development experience delivering commercial SaaS solutions
* Has worked with Agile methodologies
* Working experience with SQL and NoSQL storage
* Experience implementing RESTful service-oriented architectures with public APIs
* Experience with Amazon Web Services and cloud software deployments
* Experience with Linux; Docker and additional operations experience is a plus
* Experience with web technologies such as: HTML / CSS / Javascript / JQuery / Angular / other front end frameworks
* Experience with third-party enterprise software integration & solutions
* Experience in e-commerce application development, including payment processing and account management solutions, preferred
