Primary Responsibilities:

* Manage and develop the teams and staff that provide direct application support within both IPA and OptumCare Medical Group clinics.


* Provide direct management, guidance, mentoring, career path and development to ensure team success in meeting goals and objectives.


* Completes annual performance appraisals of staff, provides input and feedback to other managers across the EHR-HIE department regarding staff member performance and interactions.


* Establishes operational metrics to gauge performance of individual staff members and the department as a whole.


* Develop strategic and focused implementation assessment in accordance to assigned projects


* Participate as a key member of the core implementation team charged with successfully implementing and supporting an EHR system by becoming a Next Gen Certified Professional and /or Certified Allscripts EHR user.


* Provide subject matter expertise in the functionality of the electronic medical records and electronic practice management systems


* Serve as main point of contact and application subject matter expert for the Provider offices during the implementation process and post implementation process; on site go-live support and post implementation phase, including optimization.


* Analyze and document current and proposed clinical workflows, as they pertain to the implementation of electronic practice management and electronic medical records software.


* Analyze, evaluate and make recommendations and/or alternatives that address existing and potential areas of improvements in physician office operations.


* Facilitate the management of end user expectations, leveraging excellent communication and presentation skills.


* Redesign existing workflows to leverage the NextGen and/or Allscripts EHR/PM application and document, review and train future state workflows.


* Validate and implement standardized and customized training curriculum.


* Document implementation decisions and configuration approach.


* Directly and remotely support the physicians and physician office staff in the use of the EHR software and add-ons as available.


* Play a key role in the planning, design, development and deployment of new application modules and enhancements to existing applications, including communication, presentation and training.


* Perform and/or coordinate in-depth tests, including unit and integration testing.


* Utilize the ticketing software provided to adequately document issues, including correct status and prioritization


* Resolve issues directly and remotely utilizing training and provided documentation


* Follow established escalation and notification procedures Provide regular status updates to Vice-President of EHR-HIE Strategy and Solutions and/or project manager for all assigned tasks


* Facilitate and maintain vendor relationships as it pertains to the support and implementation of NextGen and/or Allscripts EHR and Practice Management systems.


* Manage and develop the teams and staff that provide direct application support within both



Required Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, information systems or area of expertise


* 6 years of professional experience working in a healthcare environment


* 4 years of experience directly managing and developing teams of IT/EHR professionals.


* 4 years of professional experience working in a NextGen and/or Allscripts EPM or EHR implementation role


* 4 years of professional experience with electronic physician's office billing systems


* 4 years of professional experience creating training plans and providing training for adult learners


* 2 years of professional experience working in an EPM / EHR troubleshooting role


* 2 years of experience managing projects in a matrixed environment


* Knowledge of SDLC, life-cycle management, compliance and regulatory requirements related to HIPAA


* Experience with issue resolution and / or issue tracking software


* Strong documentation, reporting and analysis skills with the ability to document physician practice workflow and recommend changes


* Maintain a current, valid California Driver's License and maintain reliable transportation



Preferred Qualifications:

* Master's degree in healthcare administration, information systems or area of expertise


* Previous UnitedHealth Group or subsidiary work experience.


* Allscripts and/or NextGen EHR certification


* MS Office skills that include, Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Project
