This position is open under the Technology & Innovation Roadmap Team, which is a part of the Strategic Architecture department. The charter of the team is to foster technology adoption and enable innovation. The team responsibilities include Technology governance for vendor/technologies used across SWIFT, Vendor management for key software and hardware vendors and fostering Innovation and rapid prototyping.

The team is responsible for all aspects of Technology Lifecycle , this includes researching the technology landscape, working on Technical POCs for technology products, leading and driving technology selections that identify technologies that can be incorporated in the Technology Portfolio. Vendor Technologies managed by the team include: Cloud, Containers/Docker, API platform/gateway, Databases: Big-Data, No-SQL, RDBMS, SQL, PKI, HSM, Linux OS, Messaging, Application/Web Servers, Middleware etc.

The team is located in US and is looking for a dynamic, experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, complemented with a sound awareness of related technical and the IT delivery cycle and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

In this exciting role, you will:

* Lead design, development and documentation of a complex and comprehensive technology evaluations to select products that meet required business requirements.
* Architect and implement programmatic data flows and user interfaces.
* Remain current on technology and provide guidance to management on implementing these.
* Explore and Evaluate Technologies with goal of driving technology adoption in the context of a business initiative and/or Architecture domain
* Responsible for driving technical proof-of-concepts as an individual contributor or working with several contributors to demonstrate how various alternative technologies can meet the required criteria.
* Provide assistance to other developers on coding, writes code for the most complex situations.
* Facilitates conversations and workshops with stakeholders individually and collectively to decide on business value and to determine strategic and tactical business priorities.
* Understand how business strategy drives requirements and investigates opportunities for information technology to support business goals.
* Interprets a variety of disparate business needs and translates these into an effective recommended solution plus a number of alternative solutions to inform continuous conversations with stakeholders.
* Evaluate and recommend potential new technologies and vendors using the criteria established in the company, identifying the relative strength and weakness of alternatives.
* Effective demos, documentation, presentations and communication of findings to team members, business sponsors and Senior Management as necessary.
* Adhere to corporate standards concerning conflicts of interest, due-diligence, risk management, vendor and communication, interactions with peers, superiors and with the team.
* From time to time contribute to the larger activities of the team, such as technology governance, technology investigations, problem escalations and innovation.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related IT discipline.
* 10+ years of IT/development experience, with at least 3 years evaluating technologies with proof-of-concepts and facilitating selection decision making
* Expert in developing using various programming languages and concepts such as Python, Go, Scala, Java, JavaScript, C/C++ and REST, JSON, Containers,
* Experience in various technology areas such as Linux, Containers, Databases, Messaging/Middleware, API , Cloud; relevant experience in other related technology areas will be considered.
* Experience Agile software development techniques (SCRUM, etc.)
* Software design, architecture, investigation of new technologies, and software development.
* Collaborating with the core development team and the product owners to define and estimate business requirements and translate them into specific software tasks
* Energetic self-starter with initiative and creative approach to problem solving
* Strong analytical, research, problem solving, decision making skills
* Superior communication, interpersonal skills with all levels of internal and external audiences
* Effectively handle multiple, concurrent projects requiring judgment and initiative
* Ability and willingness to work with purpose and strong sense of urgency
* Demonstrated ability in the development and analysis of technical specifications
* Demonstrated ability in design and architecture modeling
* Familiar with Agile concepts and time-boxed approach to development and delivery
* Ability for limited travel, 10%
