Job Description

Description:The Labs & Technical Services (L&TS) information assurance (IA) engineer is responsible for the development and administration of information systems security procedures for classified IT systems in accordance with the customer mandated Risk Management Framework (RMF) and other customer specific requirements for the L&TS deliverable and non-deliverable labs. This position is in support of the F-35 Reprogramming Laboratory program.

The successful candidate will interpret government security directives to determine technical Information Assurance requirements and prepare written instructions to facilitate proper security implementation. Assist with the development of Authorization Packages including System Security Plans and Certification Reports. Provide security oversight for lab networks to include performing vulnerability assessments and assisting with the development of network architectures. The specific responsibilities include developing system security requirements, evaluating and deriving system requirements from government information security documentation, and translating the system requirements into implementation plans for the laboratory systems. This position will require close coordination with the program System Security Engineering representatives, project management, system architects, chief engineers, project customers, hardware and software development teams, system integration teams, and other system security engineers implementing system security requirements and policies.

Candidates must exhibit excellent problem solving skills, be a team player, possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills, and be able to adjust work schedule periodically to support program activities.

Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and must have the ability to obtain SAP/SAR Clearances.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline

CompTIA Security+ certified

Experience with system administration of Linux and/or Windows Systems (both Desktop and Server).

Desired Skills:

RMF knowledge and experience

Simulation and Systems Integration Lab knowledge and experience

Experience in planning and coordination of security documentation
