Job Description

Overview

This role is an innovative thought leader and trusted advisor within the Finance and Accounting arenas here at Smithfield. It oversees the partner relationships and all aspects of technology delivery and support for business primarily focused on assigned business partners, including overall responsibility for IT delivery and value realization.

Partners with Finance and Accounting to identify, prioritize, evaluate pursue various high value opportunities. Also partners to solution low cost/risk alternatives to current business challenges. Works with the business to confirm solution requirements. Leads end to end solution delivery, within time and budget constraints.

Works closely with their assigned business teams for planning, delivery and sustain of deployed solutions. Key capabilities will be the ability to work with/influence senior leaders, manage budgets and project deliver.

Responsibilities

* Overall responsibility for serving as the strategic interface with assigned business units for the purpose of business/IT strategy development, solution discovery, service management, risk management and relationship management.
* Serves as the business relationship linkage between the Finance and Accounting business units and IT, at multiple levels including the executive level.
* Performs research, supports pilots, and investigates potential solutions to help anticipate the business needs and communicates solution recommendations that support business requirements to business partners
* Participates in identifying, assessing and promoting the use of new technologies for increased productivity or new capabilities for the business.
* Communicates decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, projects and initiatives.
* Brings IT innovation to the various Smithfield Finance and Accounting departments
* Proactively identifies opportunities (to leverage technology) to create business values or reduce G&A costs within the CFO organization.
* Drives technology and business process innovation within and across the organization beyond Finance and Accounting.
* Focuses on strategic initiatives and plans, proactive, anticipatory and driving in nature and provides significant value to business units. Facilitates the planning and execution of business changes through the use of technology.
* Manages business relationships and projects across teams, vendors and 3rd party providers
* Oversees prioritization and delivery of solutions for area(s) of ownership ensuring value realization.
* Collaborates with the business to define the strategy for integrating/combining systems by providing a technology perspective, influencing and ensuring alignment of IT strategy with business strategy within the sub-function or region.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.

* Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of experience in progressive IT related roles; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, required.
* 5+ years of experience with emphasis in systems supporting the specific business area, required.
* 5+ years experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management or managing processes and projects, required.
* Working experience and knowledge of SAP (FI-CO module), SAP BPC and SAP Business Analytics, required.
* Conversant and abreast of the latest technological advances (RPA, AI, Machine Learnings, OCR, etc.) in the Finance and Accounting Arenas.
* Project Management Certification desirable.
* Technical aptitude to understand and apply technology solutions to support business change.
* Possesses working knowledge of the most current financial modeling and forecasting tools/software.
* Exposure or experience with business process optimization methodologies & approaches.
* Broad business applications experience preferably in the accounting and financial areas.
* Proven project management experience working with mid-sized projects.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with peers and executive leadership.
* Strong leadership and management skills, including facilitating change, driving operational excellence, and striving for continuous improvement.
* Ability to work with Vendors and Corporate partners on delivery execution and providing cost effective- high quality solutions.
* Ability to lead and manage under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty. Proven organizational skills in working across organizational boundaries and reporting lines - ability to work in a matrix environment as required.
* Demonstrated discipline, analytical skills, problem-solving abilities and attention to details.
* Demonstrated ability to understand and prioritize IT projects according to business benefit.
* Ability to translate business needs to solutions.
* Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment.
* Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Supervisory Responsibilities

* Role is also responsible for managing Finance Business Analysts, contractors and outside vendors as business needs arise.
