General Summary of Position: # Provides Human Resource Information Systems support to the Human Resources Department, including HR applicant tracking, and all other related systems. ##This position will provide uninterrupted and seamless service to the division, the HR department, and to all Hospital departments, as required. They will work in concert with the HR team such that all divisions act in a cohesive manner. He/She will help evaluate, analyze, design and maintain the Hospitals HR/Payroll system. Additionally, he/she will provide administrative and technical support to the areas of recruitment, employee engagement, compensation, position classification, benefits, employment services, employee and labor relations and information services for their respective team and designated client department(s) as required.# He/she handles problems and non-routine situations by determining the approach or action to take and interprets guidelines, procedures, policies, and practices. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital#s philosophy, policies, procedures and standards. # Qualifications: Bachelor#s degree in computer programming or related field. Three to five years of progressively responsible human resources experience with at least two years of experience in a large complex work environment. Knowledge of HRIS systems and other related HR systems such as applicant tracking systems, and their development; analytical ability sufficient to develop and resolve systems problems of a moderately complex nature; excellent working knowledge of packaged software programs, i.e. databases, spreadsheet, word processing, etc.; ability to work interdependently, as well as, independently on projects as assigned; knowledge of the standard principle practices, methods and techniques of personnel administration; knowledge of payroll information systems and pertinent regulations; attention to detail, ability to handle multi-tasks, ability to interact at all levels and good written and verbal communication skills.

* Primary Duties and Responsibilities
* Develops human resource database applications that facilitate the efficient and effective reporting of employee information.


* Provides excellent and seamless service to client departments. Works with all HR divisions to ensure that client departments experience uninterrupted services. Will be responsible for additional projects on an ongoing basis.


* Designs, develops databases and report formats and initiates additions/modifications of the human resource information system for the successful storage and timely reporting of human resource data.


* Prepares reports, graphs, charts and statistics in support of human resources operations. Provides assistance and supports others on difficult assignments and/or problems as directed. Coordinates schedules and tracks progress of specialized work projects or departmental functions.


* Designs, develops and enhances an integrated HR information systems reporting process for the express purpose of automating personnel processes and develops manuals, forms and training materials as necessary to ensure proper understanding and compliance of HR policies and procedures.


* Engages in various activities to stay abreast of current and anticipated changes in human resources systems and healthcare delivery. Identifies and leads special projects across divisions of responsibility, or within the human resources department. Incorporates a process and performance improvement approach and looks for opportunities for cost savings and efficiencies.


* Creates and/or enhances all reporting capabilities, utilizing existing systems modules while acting in consultation with HR management and available hospital personnel as appropriate.


* Assists in the implementation, installation, customization, maintenance and ongoing support of all software packages within the Human Resources department.


* Receives and responds to support requests from departmental clients and insures the timely and effective resolution of any and all problems. Participates in short and long range planning for departmental HRIS projects.


* Leads and/or monitors ongoing projects insuring adherence to established timetables and satisfaction with end product.
