The ideal candidate has a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and the ability to teach and mentor his or her peers. This individual has the ability to advise clients and to work as a key member of the delivery team. The role will require deep, hands-on technical skills in designing, developing and implementing.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Administration of Hadoop infrastructure
* Automating repetitive administration and replication tasks using PL/SQL and shell scripts
* Assisting end users with basic SQL question and more knowledgeable users with SQL tuning or refinement
* HDFS support and maintenance
* Monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security
* Testing backup and recovery and Disaster Recovery scenarios
* Capacity planning for RDBMS and Big data environment
* Analysis and determination of database performance characteristics, for problem detection, and trend forecasting.
* Monitoring storage capacity and utilization
* Optimize ETL SQL and shifting large quantities of data between databases and between Oracle and Hadoop.
* Ability to be on-call 24x7 once every 3 weeks.

Required Qualifications:

* Hands on experience with Hadoop administration
* Experience with HDFS support and maintenance
* Experience with Oracle DB Administration
* Experience with Unix/Linux scripting

Preferred Qualifications

* Cloudera certified Hadoop administrator credential is a plus
* Experience with large Hadoop clusters
* Experience installing Oracle Grid
* Experience with Oracle Performance Monitoring & Tuning
* ASM & RAC Experience
* Experience with cloud technologies
* PL/SQL programming experience
