Job Description

ASTS is looking for a Software/GUI Developer to support its Software Engineering Services -- II (SES-II) contract at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for Software Developer with Frontend and Backend skills experienced with NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

ASRC Federal Technical Services (ASTS) is responsible for managing the NASA Goddard Software Engineering Services II (SES II) contract. This includes the following software engineering capabilities: Systems Engineering, Ground Software, Flight Software, Flight System V&V, IT Development, Science System Development and Data Processing.

Job description:

This candidate will develop a user interface for plotting data and generating reports using NodeJS for building a web-site that will maintain user accounts, interface with a data processing server to render and display the application information. In addition, generate reports (PDF, HTML) by processing the data loaded from the data processing server.

Requirements:

* B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math or Physics.
* At least 10 years relevant work experience.
* Must be familiar with object-oriented programming skills (C++, Java)
* Front End Experience:10+ years' experience with NodeJS, JavaScript, HTML, CSS
* Experience working with ReactJS, MongoDB, SQLite, MySQL, GraphQL,
* Backend Experience: Linux software building environment: ln, bash scripts, make, cmake, maven, and gradle
* 5+ years' experience with Python and object oriented programming: classes, interfaces, websocket, REST
* CI/CD experience with Docker, Gitlab-runners & pipelines
* Strong written and verbal communications skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
* Ability to obtain National Agency Check Inquiry (NACI) personal background check.
* US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Skills:

* Experience with assembler code.
* Experience with real time operating systems VxWorks and RTEMS.
* Knowledgeable in software lifecycle models
* Experience with spacecraft operations
* Some experience developing Bash, Python or Perl applications.
