Moving and transacting financial assets safely is core to executing on our vision and building our brand of trust. The Payments team builds shared infrastructure for Coinbase and Coinbase Pro to securely store and trade billion dollars of assets. We take on hard engineering problems in cryptography, security, blockchain technology and distributed systems, with a focus on building highly reliable services for product teams.

On Payments, you will be tasked with helping Coinbase and Coinbase Pro expand to new markets and assets. You'll work closely with product and infrastructure teams to add new cryptocurrencies and payment rails to our platform, and to help expand to new countries around the globe. You will also be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable software systems used by over 20 million customers to trade cryptocurrencies.

We make sure that we have the best tools for the job - we are thoughtful about code quality, testing and architecture, we push code to production confidently multiple times a day, work primarily on microservices and have great monitoring, alerting and debugging tools for production. You'll help build out our Payments tooling suite, payments interfaces for multiple Coinbase products and entirely new products that the ecosystem hasn't seen before. You'll also work with our security and risk engineering teams to build trust and safety features to protect user accounts, without compromising on the user experience. Responsibilities:

* Work with engineers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
* Build, test and ship customer facing features/products using modern tools like React, ES6, Flow, Styled Components, Jest and Webpack.
* Write highly reliable software that provides accounting and transactional services to help our customers trade crypto assets safely.
* Add positive energy in every meeting, and make your coworkers feel included in every interaction.

Requirements:

* Minimum of 4+ years of experience in software engineering.
* Designed, built, scaled and maintained critical production services.
* Comfortable working with JavaScript/Typescript.
* Developed and shipped user-facing features using component-based UI frameworks.
* You are passionate about building an open financial system that brings the world together and recognize that the first step in doing that is bridging the Finance 1.0 world with the Finance 2.0 (our) world

Nice to Have:

* Experience with production scale React apps.
* Up to date with modern JavaScript and frontend best practices.
* Comfortable in any depth of the stack.
* Worked on front-end teams in the finance or security space.
* Experience working with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, AWS.
* Experience building financial infrastructure and applications.
