Senior Frontend Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a senior front-end web developer (HTML, CSS, Javascript/ES6) who can help out with backend logic when necessary. Ideal candidates will be comfortable writing thoughtful and organized front-end components and related server-side PHP view/controller code without hesitation.

Responsibilities:

* Create amazing custom user experiences for POPSUGAR's readers and clients
* Design and implement features that wow and excite our editors and staff
* Write well structured code and unit tests following industry best practices
* Explore and learn new technologies and share your findings with the team
* Build, maintain and modernize POPSUGAR's ad serving infrastructure
* Give your teammates constructive guidance via code reviews and planning meetings

Requirements:

* 3+ years of experience working on a production web stack
* Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices (separation of concerns, don't repeat yourself, single responsibility)
* Fluency in Javascript/ES6, HTML and CSS
* Proven ability to deliver results on your projects
* Familiarity with Git and PHP (or other server-side scripting language)
* Experience consuming services exposed via RESTful/GraphQL APIs
* A keen intuition for identifying opportunities to refactor and minimize dependencies within a project

Nice to have:

* Computer Science degree or equivalent experience with Computer Science concepts (data structure/algorithms)
* Experience with React
* Google Ad Manager (formally DFP), googletag, or equivalent advertising platform
* Adobe Analytics (Omniture) or equivalent analytics platform
* Familiarity with Node and/or Express
* SQL Experience
