EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Our team wants to change the way enterprise software is built. The Front-End Developer will be driving special pilot and incubation projects with a focus on validating new enterprise product, technology, and architecture approaches and the goal to actively help shaping SAP's future Cloud ERP architecture.

As a Front-End Developer, you will work on a specific project critical to SAP S/4's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. We are hiring all levels of experience.

Overall duties include, but are not limited to:

* Join user interviews to see how our app is used and experienced by our customers.
* Can lead proof-of-concept and prototyping efforts.
* Implement features and user interfaces for the web on all screen sizes.
* Write efficient and reusable front-end modules that drive complex web applications.
* Take ownership over performance, scalability, and accessibility issues.
* Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software with a focus on full-stack or front-end and mobile technologies.
* Propose and compare design and technology options with technical leads.
* Work closely with Design & Product Management.
* Gather requirements from customers in close collaboration with customers' business and IT departments.
* Build a highly scalable and reliable, state-of-the-art web application to handle critical functions for hundreds of thousands of employees.
* Constantly test, monitor, analyze and improve performance.
* Develop fast and beautiful JavaScript web applications built on VueJS, RxJS + Angular, SCSS.
* Ability to earn the respect of a talented engineering team.

WORK EXPERIENCE

* BS degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
* Experience as a front-end or full-stack engineer building highly scalable and reliable web applications with high standards for security leveraging state-of-the-art technology stacks and tooling.
* Demonstrated professional experience with at least one major cloud platform provider.
* Strong sense for quality assurance and experience designing and implementing functional tests as part of the development process.
* Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
* Relevant work experience in cloud software development using agile and CI/CD.
* Exceptional knowledge of modern front-end technology stacks, including HTML, CSS, REST/JSON, JavaScript, TypeScript and client side, component-oriented frameworks and libraries.
* Experience with JAM stack: a modern web development architecture based on client-side JavaScript (React.js / Vue.js), reusable APIs (e.g. Twilio, Stripe), and prebuilt Markup (e.g. Gatsby.js, Webpack).
* Demonstrated fluency in multiple programming languages (e.g., Java, Javascript, Scala, Python).
* Experience developing in an agile team using Git, GitHub or GitLab.
* Familiarity with containerized applications and container orchestration.
* Experience building web APIs and API-first design principles. E.g. Swagger, GraphQL, and REST API.
* Strong sense of design and commitment to the fundamentals of UX-Design.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

* Master's, PhD degree, further education or experience in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical related field a plus.
* Experience scaling technical teams a plus
* Knowledge of modern back-end technology stacks, tools and standards, including relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Postgres, MongoDB), webservers (e.g., Nginx), server-side frameworks (e.g., Node.js), restful APIs and OAuth
* Experience with backend frameworks, such as Node.js and Loopback, is a plus
* Experience with of enterprise PII controls, GDPR, other global data privacy regulations.
* Demonstrated success in coordinating technical strategy across multiple product families.
