Our challenge is in crafting an intelligent operations management system that can automatically rebalance workloads on premise private clouds to mitigate risk and in anticipation of predicted increase in workload. Automatically burst into remote clouds and scale back into more cost effective clouds. Right sizing virtual machine. Perform cloud capacity planning so that we can tackle complex multivariate and heterogeneous constrains optimizing problems using machine learning algorithms to predict future loads and come up with the best placement, while taking into account Compute, Storage and Network data of the environment.

As a Senior Engineer in the analytics group, you will be responsible for leading our next big challenge in VMware's cloud management initiative. We build the next generation of product suite to help our customers manage, monitor and plan for their cross-cloud infrastructure. . * Deliver enterprise-ready services for the next generation of VMware enterprise products that run in both private and public clouds.
* Come up with SaaS service architecture and microservice architecture.
* Participate in all phases of the service development lifecycle based on an agile scrum methodology.

* Enjoy creating unconventional solutions to the most challenging requirements.

Required Skills:

* Tenured experience (10+ ideal) working in software development using Java or C++.
* Master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or related field.
* Prior experience building products in SaaS environments with working knowledge of deployment and management of cloud-native applications.
* Hands-on experience designing and building highly scalable distributed systems.
* Ability to troubleshoot functional, performance and scalability problems in a complex distributed system.
* Ability to mentor highly technical engineers with varying degrees of experience.
* Participation and contribution to design discussions, reviews and code reviews.
* Experience with latest philosophies around build processes, CI/CD pipelines and code coverage tools.
* Track record of successful collaborations with cross-functional teams such as Product Management, User Experience, Quality Engineering and Sales/Support in all phases of product lifecycle: Requirements gathering and vetting, development, testing and release.
* Strong analytics, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* You must be able to collaborate with customers as needed.

Preferred Skills

* Experience with workload placement and capacity challenges a bug plus.
* Deep understanding of popular models for data analytics.
* Passion for building automatic and self-healing Clouds.
* Good understanding of core building blocks like clustering, replication, serialization, availability, is a plus.
* Experience in building systems-management and monitoring application preferred.
* Hands on experience with Agile processes.
