Nordstrom's Store Information Services team is looking for capable software engineers to help us revolutionize the retail industry. We are building experiences to help our customers plan their store visit, from their interactions with the website, to cutting-edge digital directories within the store. Our team supports existing enterprise API consumers as well as our business partners who seek innovation. We aim to provide solutions to answer the question of "where can I find some black jeans?".

Our engineers support what they build, and own every aspect of the project. We bring together great code, modern tools, and iterate on engineering practices to make that happen. The right engineer for this job is full stack, meaning they are able think and execute across a complex software infrastructure that doesn't go down and scales to meet demand. As a senior member of the team you'll be driving design, working with other teams, and evolving our definition of best practices. Join us if you're ready to learn, iterate, and influence.

Basic Qualifications

* 5+ years overall development experience
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
* Excellent, demonstrated software design skills
* Experience building web applications
* Experience doing DevOps work (operations, infrastructure, and deployment)
* Excellent, demonstrated distributed systems design
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Experience with agile teams

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with modern JavaScript framework development (React, Angular, Vue.js, etc)
* Experience building containerized applications (AWS ECS, Docker, Kubernetes)

Responsibilities

* Drive application design both within and across teams
* Demonstrate and drive code quality within the team
* Contribute to the development of new features and system improvements in an agile environment
* Work on application, infrastructure, and test code to create testable features that delight customers
* Participate in the support of a 99% uptime application
