Opportunity:

The successful candidate will be able to multi-task efficiently in order to complete:

* Incident resolution.

* Project work at a Senior Network Engineer level.

You will be expected to analyze business requirements to develop technical network solutions on the fly. This involves investigating and troubleshooting problems in a state of the art MPLS based IP backbone, as well as layer 1-3 problems associated with customer managed services such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS. You will be exposed to a broad range of network technologies and diverse customer environments, which will allow you to further develop your technical skills. You will create extensive documentation and knowledge articles to support operational teams, and you will mentor less experienced engineering personnel by providing feedback.

Responsibilities:

* Investigate, triage and restore complex service outages in order to support break/fix activities.
* Design, test, and inspect data communications systems.
* Manage technology vendors.
* Participate in developing departmental process/procedures.
* Maintain technical expertise, required industry certifications, and stay current with new and emerging networking technologies.
* Act as an escalation point for all Network related items company wide.
* Write functional knowledge documents.
* This position requires an individual with the ability to manage multiple issues in a fast-paced environment. The individual selected must have excellent time management and communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
* Support regular on-call rotations on a 24x7 basis, including weekends.
* Work supportively with colleagues, operating in a collegiate manner at all times, and in line with the Company's values.

Requirements:

* B.S. degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent skills developed through industry experience is preferred.
* Minimum of seven years of industry experience in a design and engineering role in a large enterprise or service provider environment, with the installation and support of a large IP network.
* Working to expert knowledge of routing protocols including BGP4, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS; knowledge of the Internet concepts and routing architectures is required.
* Working to expert knowledge of spanning tree and layer two switching concepts is required.
* Working to expert knowledge of load balancing technologies and DNS is preferred.
* Working to expert knowledge of Cisco IOS is required.
* Working to expert knowledge of Netscreen, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA and VMware NSX firewalls.
* Working to expert knowledge of Juniper Routers and JUNOS software is required.
* Working to expert knowledge with one or more scripting languages (Python, Visual Basic, Java Scripting, ++ Shell, Linux BASH, MS PowerShell) or other
* Working to expert knowledge of data communication concepts and technologies is required.
* Ability to learn and respond to demands in a fast-paced, highly technical environment and to manage multiple issues and responsibilities is required.
* Ability to effectively work in a team environment, as well as independently is required.
* Good organizational, time management and service delivery skills are required.
* Ability to effectively use multiple diagnostic tools is required.
* Support regular on-call rotations on a 24x7 basis, including weekends.

Preferred Skills:

* Cisco certification(s).
* Juniper certification(s).
* Working knowledge of ITIL including Incident, Change and Problem management functions.
* Working to expert knowledge with one or more SDN platforms such as VMWare NSX, Cisco ACI, Amazon AWS.
