Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts is embarking on the exciting journey of driving a culture shift to Cloud, Agile and DevSecOps, delivering value for our customers and business through our Digital & Analytics platform. We are in need of Senior DevSecOps Engineer for our newly established DevOps practice. While primary focus of the role is DevSecOps Engineering, development of DevOps as a product, working closely with Digital & Analytics team for opportunities to automate, another key element of the role is to contribute towards the best practices, framework and culture shift for DevOps. This role requires a combination of Hands on DevOps Engineering (80%) as well Architecture (20%).

Key Responsibilities:

* Design, development and maintenance of DevSecOps pipeline for Digital & Analytics initiatives.
* Work closely with Vendor Partners to manage their delivery of DevSecOps as product.
* Have deep understanding of the DevOps tools, overall pipeline and the tools which DevOps pipeline is integrating with.
* Play build master / release manager role until pipeline is fully automated
* Work with in PoD structure to deliver on Digital and Analytics business objectives.
* Provide continuous support to different POD team, vendor partners for any of the support issues on pipeline or the delivery of the build
* Maintain right balance to keep DevOps pipeline clean and deliver on business values (avoid / known shortcuts which can be mitigated)
* Create metrics for the various tools used in DevOps suite as well as for the overall pipeline
* Development (and delivery) of operational metrics (MBTF - Mean Time Between Failures, MTTV - Mean Time to Value, Velocity, Quality, Waste) while working closely with App teams
* Integrate organization tools for DevOps example - ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, monitoring, logging, AWS Cloud Trail etc.
* Evangelize the principle of infrastructure as code and ability to develop Infrastructure as a Code.
* Work closely with the Platform, Security, Infrastructure, Operations and testing teams to make sure Continuous Security, Infrastructure as a Code, Continuous Testing and Monitoring are integral part of DevSecOps.
* Participate in the selection of new tools which need to be integrated with pipeline
* Establish best practices, framework, Governance structure and Delivery Model for DevOps to streamline ongoing initiatives and roll over for larger organizations
* Onboard additional tools and teams on the DevOps platform
* Contribute towards the culture shift for DevOps
* Have understanding on 6C's of DevOps and ability to contribute to all of those areas
* Coach teams not only on DevOps concepts but also on Code Branching strategies while on-boarding
* Mentor team members with in your own team as well as associates outside the team who are willing to take leap on DevOps and can support in overall delivery.
* Support system audits by maintaining accurate and comprehensive documentation.
* Provide emergency support as necessary, including after-hours.

Relevant Tools Experience:


* Hands on experience with building and managing CI/CD workflows with common tools which are part of CICD pipeline tools like - Git (Hub and Lab), Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, Chef / Puppet etc.
* Experience with AWS infrastructure automation tools and technologies (eg: Cloud formation, CLI) and other scripting languages to build upon DevOps pipeline
* Hands on experience on Release Management, Build Delivery and Code Branching.
* Experience with Jira, Confluene, Slack and its integration with CICD pipeline
* Integration experience with ITIL tools like Service Now, Monitoring tool like New Relic / DynaTrace
* Integrating CICD pipelines with API platform like Pivotal, Big data platform like Cloudera and Digital technologies
* Integrating with testing tools like TestIM, Appium - Devicefarm, Cucumber
* Familiarity with testing Frameworks - TestNG, Selenium etc. to integrate with pipeline
* Experience with Dashboarding tools like Hyegia, Grafana.
* Integration experience with Code Security (and vulnerability) tools like - Veracode, SonarQube, BlackDuck, Contrast Security etc.
* Event Logging, monitoring and notification experience - CloudTrail, Splunk / ELK, Cloudwatch etc.
* Experience with Agile as applied to DevOps workflows
* Experience in building a DevOps culture that integrates tightly with the entire engineering team
* IAM and SeAAS (Security as a Service) experience is preferred
* Big Data Technologies, Digital technologies, programming language experience is plus.

Collaboration Experience:


* Working experience in matrix delivery organization
* Ability to work with multiple teams with in and out of the organization including vendor partners
* Ability to influence and effectively participate in cross-functional teams with internal customers, peers, subordinates, vendors, and leadership at multiple levels
* Agile delivery experience; familiarity with Agile frameworks; ability to play Scrum Master role (if required)

Education and other Experience:


* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology or related field preferred.
* 5+ years of technology (at least 2 year in DevSecOps) experience, preferably in Digital or Analytics, with adequate functional knowledge about the domains.
* Strong analytics and problem solving skills
* Deadline driven with proven ability to balance multiple priorities. Identify and manage risk and work well under pressure
* Capable of effectively formulating, presenting and implementing new policies and strategies.
* Builds key customer relationships, collaborates for team results, leads with integrity
* Solid understanding of internal operations of all aspects of software development.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills
* Health insurance and/or health-related industry experience a plus

Delivery Model Experience and / or potential to Learn:


* Demonstrate experience (or willing to adopt / learn) to deliver in POD structure (Agile teams composed of delivery engineers)
* Contribute to multiple PODs of Digital & Analytics (including Platform, Digital feature delivery, Analytics feature Delivery, Data etc.) to make successful delivery
* Ownership in DevSecOps POD to be used across organization.
