Description:

* Contribute to and influence the architecture to ensure the database design and application architecture are aligned to and supported by the DevOps business needs.
* Offer thorough and practical solutions to ensure that the DBRM system is functional, performing and scalable to meet business needs. Verify functionality of periodic database software and application software upgrades and patches.
* Provide technical analysis and solutions to DB2/zOS problems and opportunities.
* Ensure high availability, backup and recovery of production databases using DB2 related database technology. Participate in regular DR exercises.
* Oversee database operation & security standard, backup and recovery, data mirroring, etc. Propose and implement database and/or SQL performance tuning, planning, configuration, scaling, and capacity management solutions.
* Engineer automated processes to minimize repeated and/or manual activities to improve effectiveness.
* Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience; Technologist certification a plus. 3 years of IT experiences & DBA working experience with DB2.
* Working knowledge of the z/OS operating system. Familiar with SQL optimization and database high availability & disaster recovery configurations. General technical background of the HW/SW platform on which the application and DBMS operates.
* General knowledge of the application and system architecture
* An understanding of business processes and the databases they access, and the flow of information between processes.
* Ability to discuss database and data management techniques and capabilities with both technical and business audiences.
* Prefer working in an Agile/DevOps environment.
* LUW/Linux experience is a plus.
