We are seeking experienced, energetic, and self-starting technologists to join the Data Cloud team. Our Data Cloud team is responsible for the Zeta Identity Graph platform, which captures billions of behavioral, demographic, environmental, and transactional signals, for people-based marketing. As part of this team, the data engineer will be designing and growing our existing data infrastructure to democratize data access, enable complex data analyses, and automate optimization workflows for business and marketing operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Senior Data Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

* Building, refining, tuning, and maintaining our real-time and batch data infrastructure
* Maintaining data quality and accuracy across production data systems
* Participating in 24/7 on-call rotation (be available by phone or email in case something goes wrong)
* Working with Data Engineers to optimize data models and workflows
* Working with Data Analysts to develop ETL processes for analysis and reporting
* Working with Product Managers to design and build data products
* Working with our DevOps team to scale our data infrastructure
* Participating in architecting and building our systems for maximum productivity and scalability

REQUIREMENTS:

We are looking for exceptional talent with superior academic credentials and a solid foundation in computer sciences and distributed systems design and development. The candidate will have had at least 5 years of experience developing scalable, robust software platforms using Python/Ruby/Java or an equivalent language. An undergraduate degree in Computer Science (or a related field) from a university where the primary language of instruction is English is strongly desired. Strong communication skills in a large distributed development team environment is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS:

* 5+ years of object-oriented Python software development
* 5+ years software engineering experience (or M.S. Computer Science with 3+ years of relevant experience)
* S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field
* Proficient with relational databases and Advanced SQL
* Proven ability to build large, reliable, scalable infrastructure -- you've directly contributed to scaling a highly-trafficked website or web application
* Experience with REST APIs and web services
* Comfortable troubleshooting complex data and systems interaction problems
* Comfortable creating and interpreting BPMN and UML design documentation
* Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely in oral and written form
* Independent contributor, motivated self-learner and team player
* Experience with Kafka, Storm, Spark, Hive, Postgres, Redshift, Redis, Cassandra
* Experience with Flask, Django, Airflow, Looker, and Docker is nice to have
