Work you'll do

As a Senior Cognos Developer in the Human Capital group you will:

* Support Implementation and Operations Management best practices while taking ownership of tasks and/or project workstreams and guiding more junior professionals


* Support and/or lead workstreams on engagements
* Contribute to deliverables and review the work of others for quality and accuracy
* Demonstrate an understanding of the client environment and overall project scope
* Provides Cognos Developer support to the client leaders.
* Serves as the Senior/SME level Cognos developer and the lead for all Cognos development efforts on the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) in support of the agency.
* As the Senior Cognos Developer, you will be responsible for working with Data Analytics from customers to gather/refine user requirements, validating requirements, using agile development practices to build design and build to the requirements, test and verify that product conforms to requirements, and ensure customer acceptance after delivery.
* Uses the suite of Cognos tools, develops reports, dashboards, and metrics in EDW.
* Develops and maintains data catalogues queries, and reports.
* Oversees quality of Cognos products to ensure consistent validation against source data and requirements through Lifecycle of the report/dashboard/metric.
* Provides in-person and remote training to users and peers on Cognos platform features, capabilities, reports, dashboard, and metrics.
* Documents all requirements, development activities, tacit and implicit knowledge as a resource for users and the client team.

Qualifications

Required:

* ACTIVE US Secret Clearance required


* Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of related / applicable experience with Cognos (with v10 or v11 experience)


* Master in ability to
* Design and develop using Cognos Analytics (dashboards, active reports, etc).
* Apply Agile development practices to requirements gathering and product development.
* Validate data and visualizations against requirements and source data.
* Design data visualizations for consumption and understanding by non-technical users.
* Use SQL for selecting, summarizing, and reporting on data from a structured database.


* Strong ability to multi-task and organize work and schedules
* Strong ability to communicate thoroughly and regularly with customers, supervisors, and peers.
* Ability to lead project deliverables through to completion

Preferred:

* Prior professional services or federal consulting experience
