AXA XL recognizes data and information as critical business assets, both in terms of managing risk and enabling new business opportunities. This data should not only be high quality, but also actionable - enabling AXA XL's executive leadership team to maximize benefits and facilitate sustained competitive advantage. Our Chief Data Office also known as our Enterprise Data Solutions team (EDS) is focused on driving innovation through optimizing how we leverage data to drive strategy and create a new business model - disrupting the insurance market.

As we develop an enterprise-wide data and digital strategy that moves us towards greater focus on the use of data and data-driven insights, we are seeking a COE Lead, Business Intelligence with a strong leadership and execution focus. The COE Lead is executive facing and designs and owns the content strategy of their respective CoE. Operating in an inverted pyramid structure, the CoE Lead is empowered to not only lead the charge on their CoE, but also to establish best practices and increase the teams' skills and capability in their respective field. Partnering with the EDS Leadership Team and other CoE leads, this role supports EDS in managing its efforts to deliver upon its value proposition, align stakeholders, and promote internal confidence and elevation of the data discussions. This role also drives colleague engagement and contributes to representing XL Catlin's global reputation as a driver of data driven business solutions.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

* Leading and managing a multi- functional team across the platform that is closely aligned with key executives and business leaders across the enterprise. Managing to the complexity, omnipresence, and importance of data and be able to provide a foundation for the organization to be data-centric and insight-savvy.
* Collaborating closely with the data leadership team to continually improve and enhance Business Intelligence architecture.


* Establishing and building up internal relationships with key stakeholders, members of the enterprise business data solutions group, and the broader platform team.


* Collaborating with and supporting the Head of Business Intelligence Strategy in establishing and building upon a foundation for XLC to be data-centric and insight-savvy. Building an internal reputation for providing actionable insights.


* Building from large-scale machine learning systems, to real-time, low-latency recommendation and ranking systems, building data-driven leading-edge algorithms for understanding customer behavior and generating recommendations content, and automated measurement and testing approaches.


* Developing and implementing a process to identify management's intelligence needs - gathering and analyzing the relevant information, providing timely reports to be acted upon based on the analyses and leading the implementation of recommendations to intelligence reporting and management.


* Building and maintaining a deep understanding of each of our business lines and the market trends affecting those various groups. Monitoring, researching and analyzing key market developments and proactively recommending actions that help our business leaders to not only remain competitive, but also further progress in technology-enabled disruption and innovation.


* Providing expertise in business intelligence, business data reporting, and data warehouse oversight to ensure that the business intelligence strategy in the firm is optimally utilized to serve business lines throughout the firm for the accomplishment of corporate strategic goals and initiatives.


* Ensuring we have an enterprise business intelligence architecture that is robust and scalable in order to gain a competitive advantage.



We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

* Data Expertise: Strong capacity to work with complex data. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with business stakeholders globally to design enterprise-wide data attributes that help gather seamless business requirements for reports, datasets, dashboards and other artifacts. Knowledge of insurance preferred.


* Strategic Thinking. Visualize what doesn't exist and know how to get there. Can invent, design and build.


* Leadership: Proven track record of leading virtual teams, including coaching, training and setting expectations for a proper delivery.


* Mental Agility: Innovative thinker, willing to turn ideas on their head. Bright and can handle highly complex situations. Can manage multiple priorities.


* Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration and presentation skills.


* A minimum of a Master's Degree.


* 8-10 years of experience in a data role (analytics, specialist or engineer) supporting multiple specialty areas of Data Management


* 3 years of leadership experience, leading programs or colleagues.


* Requires expertise across multiple work units OR mastery of a specific professional discipline.


* Resolves complex operational and tactical problems and interprets and executes policies.


* Plans, monitors and controls schedules, performance, quality and costs to achieve short term goals and objectives.
